Next volume is going to still be quite fun
With another 'story event' happening

OG event: Christopher sneak into town, meet Cecilia, end with orphanage time.

New: Annemarie sneak into town, meet Melody, orphanage time.

I usually disagree with the insistence of bed rest. If you feel fine, you feel fine.

That puppy looks like a chubby, short-tailed cat.

Yes, she is saying that sword was that powerful.

How fortunate she removed the magic before that.

An explanation for that wasn't necessary, since she said she would remove the magic.

So, you thought the plot would continue like the game despite inventing stuff specifically to avoid bad ends? And she's surprised that doing so prevented at least one bad end? Is she not considering the consequences of her actions?

That's not the butterfly effect. It's simple cause and effect.

She really likes using metaphors.

All that needs to happen is for the school girls to bring a maid along with them and then everything is set.
Which is fairly common in these mangas.

Programmer habits die hard, heh? It reminds me of when I am typing code I usually use so many protections that make me wonder, do I really need all of this? Ha, ha!
Yo a lot of boomer managed companies should have more people like you

The amount of times companies here in Puerto Rico get held back by a mere knock off trojan is embarrassing.

It’s quite true the carriage service makes a big difference. Even if Melody could have simply flown to the city, she wouldn’t have met Maxwell and later asked him for help.
Though at the crux of it, it’s still mainly Melody making waves that alters the story (pun intended).

Also Annemarie must have a lot in her mind to not even try asking Melody, after all circumstances lead to Melody.

The butterfly effect is essentially cause and effect on steroids lol.
It's about something insignificant that causes major, seemingly unrelated changes. That's not how it is here. It's easily to trace and the purpose was exactly what happened.

In the LN, the narration actually explained this with Annemarie made the wrong assumption that reincarnators will only be named characters from the game. When Melody's name didn't ring a bell, she didn't even consider the possibility a unknown maid would be one.

Your not disproving me. Cause and effect are essentially same as the butterfly effect. The cause is the insignificant thing and the effect is the major change. They both follow the logic of one thing leads to another so they're essentially the same thing. The only real difference is the scale of the cause and effect.

Edit: Also on the topic of how it is the butterfly effect the change is that the carriages being available lead to Maxwell and Melody interacting which would set up into the major event of Luciana and Maxwell being together when in the game Maxwell showed up alone. The main point of why Annemarie is so surprised is because they didn't think that just proposing the idea of carriages to prevent bad endings (so something that the player would do if they know) would lead to a major change in the story.

To sum it up:

Creation of the Carriage -> Melody and Maxwell interact -> Maxwell escorts Luciana (never happened) -> Causes an uproar as Maxwell wasn't expected to escort anyone.

In the end we should forget that the real butterfly effect is Melody's actions which caused this as well.

While I myself agree with your statement (to the ire of literally everyone around me when it happens), bed rest when you're not well, even if you think you are, is still vital just in case. Even if it winds up a completely boring set of days as a result.

In other words, she's surprised because she didn't think trying to change the story would cause a change in the story. They added the carriages to improve mobility of the people to increase resilience towards bad events, and one of those things was allowing an OP maid to travel so she could prevent a bad event.

The changes they made are not insignificant, and the effects they had were what they aimed for. This is not a small change causing major effects, which is what the butterfly effect is. Cause and effect is if you kick a ball, it goes flying. That's what happened here. That's not the butterfly effect.

You're not disproving me.
