Eh. if you were, you were, I guess. Anyway, this was a pretty challenging one for someone who needs a robot buddy to do any of this stuff, but hopefully I didn't get anything too badly wrong. Feel free to let me know if the weird fonts are too much or if there was anything else you didn't like.

"mysterious shadows" seems like it's higher stakes than just 'slice of life' but i like the vibes so far tho i guess there is a drama tag
I like the art style i'd want to see this as a ghibli mini series or so lol (tho idk if ghibli ever did shows versus movies)

It is darker than a lot of Ghibli, just FYI. It doesn't drop the coziness entirely by any means - there's still gentle humour and "Wow, look at this cool thing" in later chapters - but there's absolutely action and more of the moderately grim violence as well (Ishi carving up the "aberration" is not a one-off). If it was Ghibli, it'd be, I dunno, the feel of Pom Poko but with the dismemberment and angry monsters from Princess Mononoke (funnily enough!), something like that.

Just to confirm I am still going with this atm; working on Ch. 2, but it still needs a lot of redrawing (if nothing like as complex as the spice merchant, thank Christ) and I'm just one guy who's already trying to do way too many series at once. <_< I'll try not to let it take too long (I really do like this one and think it deserves to be better known) but if all goes well it'll still take a few more days.
