Absolutely love that despite everything that’s happened, Sylvester still trusts Myne s judgement in this moment and prioritizes the problems she foresees coming. A lesser aub would be too focused on the fight for the throne but Sylvester is surprisingly flexible

also love grandpa breaking and Ferdinand smiling when Myne explains her strategy. that was definitely a Ferdinand move right there and even grandpa would’ve struggled to respond to it
though his god tier instincts probably would’ve kicked in to save him

hadn’t considered that before but yeah. That’s a huge freaking deal and he probably should’ve done something about it

I’m not sure that’s entirely true. Myne made a series of poor decisions that turned a bad situation into something so much worse than it had to be. Yes part of this is ehrenfests fault for not instructing her more clearly on how to deal with royalty but they had no idea she’d be doing that beyond the simple greeting at the start (which she also messed up). Plus Myne should’ve realized that every interaction with royalty required an immediate letter back home asking for advice.
tbf, the fault lies solely with Rihyarda as she is the most senior attendant with wealth of knowledge in how would an archduke candidate's should interact or act. but perhaps she was instructed by ferdinand or slyvester to let myne flounder around in the academy but i doubt it. hopefully when she return to the royal academy, the senior scholar that accompany her would have help myne navigate the social.

and quite sharp of myne to divert the idea that they had to align with the first or 2nd prince faction but instead join klassenberg and eglentine's side. this way, they ensured whatever action they did, they can justify to both side that they acted at the behest of klassenberg or eglentine.

Uuuuuuuugggggggggghhhhhhhh this is why I kinda hate this kind of development of the story, like, it's not as simple as "Let's work hard to fulfill the quota so I can create things and after that READ BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY".
Now you gotta SOCIALIZE, READ SOCIAL CUES, THINK ABOUT THE NOBLES WHO AND WHO, WHY AND WHY NOT, DON'T DO THIS DON'T DO THAT, WHO'S NOBLE IS WHO... yeah, the NOBLE THING...
Everywhere is a pristine tile with a social boobietrap, gotta mind your act, gotta mince your words, and be a chess-strategist to... SOCIALIZE WITH PEOPLE AND ESPECIALLY NOBLES and REMEMBERING THEIR FAMILY LINES and whatnot.

I don't mind socializing with people but man, these nobles-thingie just make your burnout. No wonder Myne... I mean, Lady ROSEMyne (Fuck that noble-shit I prefer deadcalling her old name) needs to hug Lutz once in a while.

Technically speaking, talking about the wall of text about Nobles mostly fly over my head. I prefer Myne talking about how to do this and do that to create this and that to sell.

Everyone blames Rozemyne for getting dragged along by the upper-ranked duchies and then by the prince, as if she could have avoided it. I always thought this part of the story felt odd. Imo her mistake was standing out, and that's partly Ehrenfest's fault for telling her to raise everyone's grades and to show off Rinsham.

As for the Prince? He made the unreasonable demand for her to stay out of his way in the first place, then got upset when she didn't selectively follow his inconsiderate demand. Yeah, yeah, dealing with Royalty in a [deadly] heirarchy is a pain. But don't blame Rozemyne for that! That's just how the world works, dudes.

God-tier Foreshadowing!
Ferdinand knows what's in the library and how important the Archnoble Librarians are to access it. He's the last living person to access it! That was a "Yurgenschmidt is doomed" flinch!"
While it might be a bit foreshadowing i feel like it was also a bit of sadness based on what we know of his past. He probably knew those people decently well enough.

Did somebody order squishy cheeks? :lul:

To be fair to the three stooges, Myne could have been more non-committal in her behavior. That's a skill a good merchant would have too.

I'm kinda curious how Sylvester handled true ditter at the academy, since he would have overlapped with Ferdi for a bit.

Guys it's LN spoilers. Go read the LN it's so good!
Another interesting turning point! Would making Anastasius Zent have been better? I'm not so sure. Zent here is at best a temporary job, since neither Sigiswald nor Anastasius is omnielemental, and they can't get the true Book of Mestionora. Eglantine is Omni, but due to the timing of her pregnancy, she couldn't get it herself in time to prevent events from happening. Even if one of them had gotten the real book, they would also need to know about the conspiracy with Lanzenave and close the country gate and purge the leadership in Ahrensbach, which they didn't.

I also don't think Sigiswald's proximity to the throne is to blame for Yurgenschimdt's near destruction. The loss of the True Book of Mestionora happened a long time ago, when Rauchelstra made the Fakebook Grußtresheit. The loss of the Fake Grußtrisheit happened when Sigi was still a toddler (Was he even born yet? 🤔). And Raublut's conspiracy with Lanzenave happens independently of either of them ascending. He doesn't respect either of them for Zent. Not noticing Raublut's treachery is more the fault of Traerqual than either of his sons.

All the worst mistakes the Royal Family made were ultimately Trauerqual's. Sending Ferdinand to Ahrensbach. Letting Raublut investigate the trugged knights at the academy, and in Ahrensbach, when Raublut was behind it. Neither Sigi or Ana were able to spot it.

I don't see any moment where a Zent Anastasius could have prevented things from going the way they did. Unless you are remembering something I forgot?
Conspiracy theory time!

if anastasius had become the next zent, he’d have been too busy to knock her up! lol. As for the invasion, Raublut saw a chance and took it but wouldn’t have necessarily risked everything if things had gone a bit differently. Also, sigi was the one who gave Raublut the keys to the villa he used to invade, which Anastasius only let him do as A distraction to stop sigi from assassinating Ferdinand. Oh and as for whether or not sigi was born…I think yes. The author has intentionally never given us a clear timeline on the civil war but Sylvester was 26 at the start of the series and became archduke partway through the civil war. Plus he’s 12 years older than sigi, so sigi couldn’t have been born as the crown prince

Rihyarda technically wasn’t there when Myne made most of her biggest screw ups with royalty, since she didn’t follow Myne to classes (can’t remember if she was at the tea party or not) and thus would’ve only realized there was a problem I’d she told her but Myne didn’t see it as a big deal so she would’ve stayed quiet

and yeah, regardless of what happens next, eglantine will be a critical person moving forward so getting in good with her (which Myne already has) is a great idea

thanks for clearing it up. not sure if i remember right as attendants was not allowed in classes or during lectures, i think. still, most of myne's blunder happened when rihyarda was not present (she was accompanied by the apprentices, whom are still green) and myne herself rarely ask her attendants (especially rihyarda) about how do she would act or the proper conduct when interacting with the other archduke candidates and royalty.

and now it seems with chapter 52, seems she started to ask for more input from her senior staffs like rihyarda and justus on how to manage things properly and sending proper notifications. still, myne might need a have a shorter leash strict strict supervision which Ferdinand will remedy when she return to the royal academy.

Myne will get a very different kind of supervision in her second year and I can’t wait for it lol

also, she definitely
improves after this as her reports become mind glowingly professional and make things super easy for Sylvester and Ferdinand
