Be it true, or false.. instead of trying to communicate with him and try solving it, she went and did what we saw in chapter 1 and decided to make the presumed "rumor" true in his eyes? 😐

Considering she has been keeping him away from her class so he doesn't hear it, i assume she knows it'd be super hurtful/bad for him to hear and all, so she should've been totally aware what effect it would have if she said it to his face all mockingly scarring him for life 😶

Assume the story goes the route "He was busy studying so i didn't want to burden him", but like.. the results defeated the whole purpose, or not ?

That aside wtf, i thought that shit was a spur of the moment lie? Did she lie way earlier and just chose not to correct it for some teenager reason?

Some commwnters have posited that there was some bully spreading malicious rumours and i guess that kinda works with the whole "i didnt want to be a pushover anymore" backstory we got for lemon like 30 chapters ago, but surely she wouldve told atleast her boyfriend, right? Why keep up the lie when you break up woth him?
Interested to learn what actually happened and ill keep coping that well learn that in this arc and get lemon to finally tell the truth to sunao.

Dating four people at once is 4 timing, the person doing the cheating isn't counted as part of the number. It implies there's Lemon, Sunao and three other people.

it does feel like a retcon, yeah. shame, I would've been fine with Lemon having come up with it on the spot, I'd have wanted her to be happy regardless(which, uh, is the title of this whole thing)

Actually (lol), the original japanese title is "i hope you are happy, bitch" so its not really something wholesome. It's refered to what sunao says in chapter one. He doesn't say "witch" there either but EN official localizations are often pussies when it comes to profanity.

how is that a redcon? Like what? Chapter one only gave like 1 panel without any context. Everything so far is in line with what we know.
Example on how it could play out:
Random girl: "She is cheating on you"
Sunao: "Nah I dont think so" ignores this.
Lemon: "I am gonna break up"
Sunao: "Why?"
Lemon: "Because the rumors are true and I am cheating."

Look everthing is how we know it. Of course this is pretty simplified. I mean the obvious thing is she was bullied in some form. That is why she did not want him to come to her room and then she broke up with him so that he would not get sucked into this. And yea her not denying the rumors is a thing a lot of people would indeed do before anyone says that that is just bad writing. Because I swear to god some of the people here act like this is the worst writing ever seen. Like it could still be something else. let the author cook first before judging everything by what you assume will happen.

Also Kogahara still best girl.
