C'mon, people. Take a look at the series before calling doomsday. This will be resolved in next chapter, two at max. Though there's no official confirmation, it's clear that we are very near to the end of this manga. And even if it was not the case, I'm sure it would took 1-2 chapters too at max.
The character have evolved and their relationship has developed, but they've became too comfortable in the "not yet" phase, so when they reached a point of no return (her graduation and going out town to University), both started to panic. It's an understandable reaction.
Calm down and let the author cook.
