One thing I am going to say tho, I wouldn't wanna be a junior engineer in 2030. And if you're a programmer today and all you're doing is simple CRUD you might wanna try harder and explore deeper perogrammong stuff.
If this is broadly the kind of behavior by students (and faculty) in secondary institutions today (it's hard to gauge from this - how big is the sample size for this article?), there are potentially going to be serious issues start showing up in a lot of fields in a very few years. I don't think I'm going to run for the hills just yet, but I'm certainly not looking forward to finding out just how many students in technical fields are entirely missing the point of college and prioritizing the credentials above the actual education. (Not that this is really a new thing, but used to be a lot harder to slide by like this.)
