I always wonder who are this kids who rates 1star for every manga they're don't like something about?
Is it so hard to put your emotions aside and set the objective rating?
Anyone can understand it after looking at the ratings histogram. Bunch of extreme ratings are derived from prejudice and it makes the rating system overall meaningless.
It's not just about this manga, it's true for many other titles too.

@vodkavodka they help balance out the "people" who rate everything 10 stars. I can tell you, 90% of isekais don't deserve a 7 (good). The current rating for this 8.04 seems decently accurate imo.

In case anyone is wondering, TappyToons officially brought this over in the USA but it's called "I Belong to House Castielo" on their website. First two chapters are free and then it's 3 tokens per chapter, which I think averages out to be .30 to .50 cents per chapter (don't quote me on that though, I've sucked at math all my life). They release one to two chapters a week on average and their translators/editors do a great job. It's worth supporting the comic if you can.

@gaylard It is true the other way around. People are compensating low ratings with 10star rating. But it is still meaningless if half or more ratings is spent on some compensating. It will just make the final rate average.

@vodkavodka it's impossible to truly know if a majority of the people who vote 1's and 10's actually have the other in mind. My point is that most series are skewed towards the 10 side regardless and can have around 15x the amount of 10s than 1s (I've never seen the opposite to be true), this is most readily observed in bad wish fulfillment isekais and cute shit, see: https://mangadex.org/title/23862/bocchi-kaibutsu-to-moumoku-shoujo and https://mangadex.org/title/12171/re-monster). A 7, let alone an 8 itself shouldn't be considered "average" as that's what 5 is literally listed as. If the numbers weren't so inflated this would be worth a 7/10 instead (I still consider it pretty fun despite it being both wish fulfillment isekai and cutsey shit).

But yes, I agree with you. 7-8 shouldn't be average but... it is. I rate many titles with 5star where there are a lot of 7-10 besides of my vote.
I have not seen a spiked 5-star rating for a long time.
