What's the problem with the MC?
Hard working adult who had a crush on his boss that he was about to let go. Yeah, he hard confessed to her once. It didn't work out and it crushed him. That's it.
The female characters I'm inclined to agree with you.
- Kouhai plays the role of an incompetent person so that the MC can pay attention to her.
- Highschooler has baggage, and self-confidence issues. Tons of sexual partners and a messed up sense of intimacy. Better not touch that with a 100ft pole, unless you want gonnaherpalaids, and constantly having to deal with emotional issues.
- Boss has attention issues. She liked the fact that he liked her, but straight lied to him about having a boyfriend. That's not a light lie, like "I can't right now I want to focus on my life," no that's a heavy lie, as in "NOT INTERESTED, I'M TAKEN." Soon as he starts moving on, she starts playing coy and trying to pull him back. Better not touch that with a 10ft pole.
Only reasonable partner is the Kouhai as of now. Knowing this author he's going to write some shit character element into her as well turning it into a presidential election of shit sandwitch vs giant douche.

words are cheap, anyone can have a straight face and say they are this or that. what really prove what they are usually shown when trouble appears especially something to do with what they claim about themselves.
example : i dont like wasting foods, i usually eats my food even if its not good as long as it is edible. i prove it in the restaurant where i tried something that i found horrible, but i still clean them up.
it is already a good choice from yoshida to say that they need time like few years to know each other. they need to prove each of their words, no one like getting lied and backstabbed. that senpai should not bear any ill intent if yoshida ended up refusing her should he found out shes not what she claimed to be in the end. older ppl has more trouble to trust someone unlike high schooler love
also, the whole trouble on her "good intuition" probably rooted on how Yoshida ask her to come to his place to have sex. this practice for some woman is like 1 way deal to the man, which is yoshida's fault to think every woman is fine to be ask having sex right on the start dating as long as they like each other. think like a human before you are a man, you arent animal in heat
