Just when Gotou was starting to show her worth in ways even the salty virgins were a bit more chill about... here comes kouhai like a storm of entitlement to ruin everything AGAIN.

Would have broadsided the entire plot. In fact, they might have ended up going back to his place together, walked right past the girl on the roadside, who wouldn't have spoken up because a passing couple wouldn't be approachable to her... and she might have died of exposure out there or something.

As long as we don't know what Sayu is running from, it's a bad idea to encourage her to return home. If she's running from an abusive household what does going back and "facing her problems" entail exactly? Tell her abusers/legal guardians off for their behaviour and go back to relying on them for love and shelter?

I understand that the current situation can't go on forever, but, to our knowledge, Sayu doesn't have any alternatives. Gotou doesn't offer her any alternatives either. Gotou cleverly doesn't tell Sayu to go back and face her problems, but waits for Sayu to suggest this option before encouraging her down that path in a manner vague enough to minimise her own influence on that decision.

Whilst I love the cunning in this move by Gotou, I dread to think the author may not be aware of how terrible this advice really is for Sayu. Everything is being presented as this profound moment of realization, when in fact it's a very twisted move by Gotou to remove someone she considers to be an obstacle. This can all be subverted or called out for the bad thing it is in a future chapter, but I don't trust the author and I are on the same page here.

A good amount of people are too forgiving of Gotou. What she is saying is not wrong but the action she has shown is just not good. She's saying that she had also liked him for over 5 years but rejected him when he worked up the courage to ask her out. She rejected him over a gut feeling and had the nerve to say that her gut feeling was right. If Gotou had accepted his confession then the Mc meeting Sayu might not even have happened, though this is still an "If scenario". Even all that talk is just pretty and empty words. She didn't even offer an alternative or a helping hand. Gotou could've offered to take Sayu in.

This chapter has dropped my impression of Gotou when it wasn't that high.

Also how hard are her parents even looking for her? Is it really that easy to run away from home in the modern era if you’ve haven’t been trafficked or kidnapped?
