I like that this manga doesn't really hold its punches on anything. It takes a gloomy, but rather realistic interpretation of the difficult position that the MC finds himself in.
That said, this monologue for Mishima just doesn't work for me at all. It's not even that her reasoning is flawed, which is debatable, but that this whole conversation feels so forced. I don't think Mishima's personality fits it at all; it feels more like its just the Author telling me, "This is the inner conflict of the arc and I don't have a better way to introduce it". To add to it, the MC feels so passive in this scene, and I don't think it's
because he's outstandingly timid.
This whole chapter just uses Exposition in the guise of Dialogue.
