......I was actually way more riveted by Ripley's previous life. Like the Duke seems like a fake caricature of a man now, no guy actually acts like that. Like "I'm in love with you and will accept you as you are and fight for you FOREVER" while not having any real conversations with her that aren't comedic or shallow. Obviously this is not a new thing in isekai and it's fantasy romance for women, I get it, but contrasted with her previous real life that had multifaceted, complex characters instead of just PERFECT MAN it makes the fantasy world just seem suuuper fake. Like a themed park.

However, this is probably the last loop of reverse-uno, shit will get serious now, and overall this series is just some cute fluff. Not trying to hate, but damn those two barely-chapters of her previous shitty life put me on the edge of my seat lol. I def understand what they were trying to do, show Ripley's trauma and why it affects her so much now, and how the Duke is gonna come Fix It All. Standard isekai tropes and I totes get what they are going for.

I think part of me is just like, I see her past trauma life and wish she could solve it without having to be whisked away to a literal fantasy world where perfect man fixes her. But that's isekais for you! Maybe the blatantness of it is what's irking me. I'm not really sure. IT'S JUST FLUFF i'm definitely overthinking it lol.

Yo you're being kinda victim blamey right now.

You really don't think that in MC's previous life if she told her friend that Junsu wanted to hang out a bunch that she wouldn't still blame MC? Obviously she just didn't want to face the music that her boyfriend liked someone else better than her. Yes, maybe she shouldn't have trusted Junsu so much but it is in no way her fault more than her friends and Junsu.

As for the Duke... you're calling MC a psychopath but not him??? He's the one that has threatened to kill her if she fell in love with someone else or broke off the engagement (I don't think he really would have because he's actually in love with her but still that's too much).
And "leading him on" she did was at the beginning when she was DRUNK and I don't even think they actually had sex if they're gonna go with that cliché.

So yeah, maybe MC is naive about some things but I don't get how you can see her as the villain in all this. Especially since she's not even stealing the Duke away from anyone deliberately or otherwise. You sound like the bullies in MC's past.

This is sooo cringe and sad. I agree with everyone pointing out her naivety but let's be real here... this shit happens IRL so let that be a lesson to all. If you're unsure and have a gut feeling that what you're doing is wrong or will be misinterpreted then yes by all means tell your friend what's happening just in case. YIKERS

Read this on webtoon so ya'll can get free coins! I wouldn't mind if this gets dropped and I'm definitely not complaining if it continues. I'm just tired of these portrayals of not siding with women especially your friend at that! It's always the girl to blame and gets the worse end of the stick ugh. On the brighter side it did a good way of showing how awful the bullying was and how Ripley felt alone and feeling like all of it was her fault when obviously it wasn't. Her naivety has been very charming to me these past chapters but I guess it's showing how it can also turn on her.

i can really relate to ripley's trauma. i had an ex who had liked another girl (she had a boyfriend at that time lol but my ex was a mad simp for her) while we were dating, and that girl was a friend of mine too. she could've told me he was trying to talk to her and trying to cheat on me, but she couldn't. but unlike bitchy ahyoung, i didn't blame my friend for her ignorance or disillusioned myself to think she had seduced him. i know what it feels to not say anything that could potentially ruin your friendship and would end up making dumb decisions that could've easily been avoided if u had simply told the truth. i myself had made many dumb decisions and like ripley. i wanted someone who could be the embodiment of my fantasies, and that person happened to be my ex🤣 thank god i'm not with him anymore. i learned my own self worth than to stick with a jerk like him.
honestly, ripley is in the wrong for not telling her friend the truth but ish understandable considering how naiive she is. at least she's trying to avoid that mess again with the original heroine. i know that things have changed now but ripley can't believe that becuz she's living inside a book, so the characters might go back to how they originally were without a warning. that uncertainty of how their fates will turn out combined with her insecurities is what scares ripley and prevents her from wanting to marry the duke (also she doesn't wanna be duchess🤣) and although i love them as a couple, i really hope zeronis will stop being so manipulative and respect her choices.
I REALLY HOPE SHE DOESN'T DEVELOP A FORM OF STOCKHOLM SYNDROME😂😂

This piece of shit Junsu reminds me of a friend that act exactly like this and go as far as to let the lady friend sleep in his fcking room when his fcking gf (my friend also) is on another room in whole another floor. Then they broke up with him saying stupid stuff like "I cannot be ur support anymore :(" and go out with that lady friend one month after that. He also said "we're just friends, i only think of her as friend :(" all along that period when he's meeting her at night without telling his gf.
Bad memories.

That guy blocked me and his ex after I called him out

Yikes, Junsu and Ahyoung can both go die in a fire. Yuck.

Anyways, Ripley didn't steal anyone away from anyone. Since the Duke wasn't dating the female protag. Things aren't written in stone. It's not like the novel's protag was even pining after the Duke at any point.

Well this is more deep than I expected, though I love a good backstory. Ahyoung saw what she wanted to see, the texts would have shown Junsu was always reaching out. Thoug Ripley isn't blameless, she should have atleast told Ahyoung she was meeting her boyfriend. At the end Ahyoung and Junsu are at fault.

Thank you for the mass update, Somnolent Dog scans

why the fuck is it partly the protagonist's fault that she didn't tell her friend? Who the hell was in a relationship and was trying to cheat in the first place? it was the guy. the fuck is with this victim blaming.

I dont like this forced drama with her not sorting her issues and creating this mess. Faking death/injury is really fucked up. :( I want cute moments not whatever this is.

@Yniv,
ikr? The ex-friend and the ex-bf really brought their relationship issues to involve FL and somehow pinned it on her that she's the reason the relationship failed?! Ex-bf wasn't faithful and fell out of love from the relationship and yet FL was the cause? The ex-bf and the intentional covering done at his end should have been the cause, the ex-friend was just mad, refused to break up and accept the reality, she only wanted to blamed everything on FL, she didn't even blamed the ex-bf, ffs.

Very lengthy (so I hide it with spoiler tag function) elaboration to why I agree about it's victim blaming to say Ripley is partially to be blamed:
If looking from the ex-friend position, that if I'm the one in a relationship, I'm not gonna expect everyone that my partner hangs out with to get my permission or report to me everytime that they would be hanging out. The burden is not on them. My partner would have to be the one to be truthful about their plans and make sure I'm okay with that before attending. It is My relationship with My partner, my partner and I have to be responsible for and updated with each other in a healthy couple way through proper mature understanding, communications, compromises and commitments. If either one of us can't do that, We are responsible that our relationship fails to work out, not the unaware third party. If my partner can't stay in love and committed to our relationship exclusively without cheating and lies, then we are not compatible and not looking for the same things our of this relationship, and that we should properly break up as amicably as possible without involving unaware third party(or more), NOT cheating, blaming everyone else outside of our relationship, refuse to acknowledge the issues and responsibilities, refuse to break up, escalating shits in public, bullying people and stuff. WTH. The frustration (emotion) could be relatable and understandable but the ex-friends' decisions (actions) were not even right, she did nothing that was "understandable so I don't blame her and so Ripley is partially responsible".

Ripley wasn't even aware of the whole situation, rejected him and was manipulated with lies by the ex-bf. Granted she was naive and passive, but that doesn't mean she's responsible for the issues that the couple had or the failure of the relationship, she's the one got pulled into the mess by the ex-bf unknowingly. Just because Ripley's naive and dumb doesn't mean she's not a victim in the whole situation and that she "should know" what to do with other people's relationship mess by playing an active role in it, interfering and somehow escalating the issue even further. If Ripley "should have" informed/reported to ex-friend, why not ex-friend "should have" talked to Ripley privately to find out what's going on first as soon as she found out? Again, the burden should be on me and my partner for our relationship issues not other people who shouldn't interfere, even if they are already pulled in to be involved. Ex-friend and ex-bf should have resolved their shits privately, even if they want to get testimony truth whatever from Ripley they still should have done so privately instead of putting her in such a position. Intentionally doing so publicly and blaming everything on Ripley and then follow up with bullying, it's clear that it's malicious and done intentionally out of spite and resentment for her own failure of relationships that she refuse to take responsible for as 1/2 of the relationship. It's one thing that if Ripley was fully aware of the whole cheating situation and still went with it etc, but it's not, she was manipulated with lies. If Ripley "should have" sensed and seen through the lies and talk to the ex-friend, why not ex-friend "should have" sensed and understood ex-bf intentionally lied and manipulated Ripley from the text messages she read? Ripley might not have been helpful and determined enough to get herself out of the mess she's already in but she's still a victim and not to be even partially blamed or responsible. To compare to the medieval social hierarchy settings where heroine vs villainess is not the same as modern social settings too, whereby engaged MLs of high hierarchy, in an already established social and political rules with legal offence if breached, should not be privately hanging out with opposite sex who isn't their fiancée, vice versa for engaged females too, and thus if heroine is part of a noble family or already taught about the rules as a commoner, should not do so. They are, in context, in a position that are already fully aware of the rules, are reincarnated person into otome game having protagonist syndrome, intentionally go after the engaged MLs knowing they have fiancées already and still playing innocent white lotus and that's why they are different from Ripley's unaware situation in modern society.
