...Kinda cynical, don't you think?
I get where they're coming from on a certain level, but even pragmatically Violet's connections and her knowledge are too invaluable to lose.
I absolutely think she needs to learn to let go of her pain, especially in the face of what Dahlia said about abandoning her ideals for the sake of revenge. I fully understand that mindset and the story trope it represents, but Clarice has fully offered up an olive branch that stands to benefit Violet in multiple ways (personally and economically), as well as their entire region.
So hopefully she can see the kindness for what it is--even Frost bowing her head in "taking responsibility" is
huge--and, I say this somewhat lightheartedly, "stop being a child" and get along with the others for the sake of their people.
I
will say that, while I understand where she's coming from, I don't know if I'll ever grow to like or accept Shion. As Violet's "guard dog", she's just super aggressive and the fact she's totally fine just outright threatening Clarice, whom I figured Violet ostensibly liked enough to try and separate from Frost, is absolutely a step too far in my book.
The fact Violet didn't call her off at the end there before they were blessedly interrupted is not a good look, for me. However much she's hurting, she's continuously going back on what she claims is important to her--even rejecting her onee-san Dahlia--and she needs a
serious wake-up call if her character is going to be redeemable.
And I'm sure she'll get there in the end, all told.
Maybe she does need a good spanking on top of it all or something though (get that Brat Correction angle going)
