Mainly because they keep trying to make an unorthodox combination of Shounen Battle manga and Yuri. These usually have conflicting target audience and you need the right magazine/publisher that caters to both. So far the only one that worked is MagiRevo and thats mainly because it was originally a light novel with existing groundwork.

I'd say she should try something with mahou shoujo instead, all the tropes are easily transferable.
There was issues with MajiGawa but it seems like that was more on the magazine side wanting drastic changes she didn't agree with. She just needs to find the right place for something like that.

Because they're convenient settings to put a lot of girls together in one place with little to no excuse or thought put into it.

Yeah I shoulda known, the Yuri moments in particular always be hitting the hardest with thous work

Ahah the knight and the pawn, I quite like this Yuri and I'm sad to see it end, I think I had my awakening about writing when I was about half way through so at some point I gotta go through and reread it, but it's a fun ride all around
