@Amplify @frungy That's logically wrong. What's the logic in leaving the prince alive? The MC already shot the prince, which is attempted murder of royalty of the kingdom. Leaving the prince alive along with his party members makes the MC a marked target. How is the situation better if the MC leaves the prince alive, instead of killing everyone so that there are no witnesses? Even if there are people on the way, if the MC simply portals out, who will know that he did it?

Shooting the prince and running away is one thing, no murder took place and it would simply be his word against the MC and the MC can cast doubt on the situation.
Murdering the prince is an entirely different matter, if somebody injured your son vs if somebody murdered your son, there would be a very different degree of reaction to it.

1. If the safety of the elf was the important thing, then killing the prince, who is so full of himself that he can't even say sorry and is thus likely to try something later, would probably be best.
2. All the more reason to just start killing and not waste time talking.
3. Should have just killed her too.
4. He would have had time for that if he didn't waste so much talking.
When has shame ever stopped the evil bad from hiring assassins and such?

Murder hoboing is simply the optimal metagame in medieval fantasy worlds, it's the sad truth. Doesn't usually make for a good story though, since all problems tend to get resolved with brutal efficiency.

You kill the prince, then the king goes out of his way and uses his full power & authority to hunt down the one responsible for it. You leave the price alive, and the prince has to clean up his own mess.

@Amplify I'm sure the prince's words are much stronger than some foreigner. He's the king's son. Attempted murder or actual murder, it probably doesn't make a difference. The MC aimed for the prince's life. What do you think the king would do? It's execution either way (or life imprisonment). What's better? Leaving witnesses alive so he can be reported, or killing all the witnesses and nobody knows who did it? How does leaving witnesses and therefore getting hunted down help the MC in any way of getting closer to his goal of making money from the dungeon and getting back to his sister on Earth? If people knew he tried to murder the prince, how would the MC be able to continue entering the dungeon?

I really don't think the prince is gonna leave it at that. Plus he had a perfect setup to cover his ass, should have just finished him there instead of simping for the princess.

So close to have that cool and badass ending, but hey, let's listen to this retarded woman who's characterization is basically to turn her other cheek, no matter what people try to do to her, if they just eventually fail to do..
They literally tried to rape her, and very probably have her murdered and fed to the monsters/dungeon after that...
"it was merely an attempt"

Fuck that bitch, screw this author. That certainly was an attempt, just like it was an attempt for this manga to be good.

Also, yeah great decision to kill that wizard, but let the prince and the knight live, because of course that isn't basically just asking for a revenge to happen to mr. protagonist.

It's these types of key moments that define whether the author, and his/her mangas protagonist is great.
This time it was not. "It was merely an attempt".

What's better, the prince telling his father that he got caught nearly raping an elf and got knocked off her, or the people who are coming seeing the MC standing over the prince's corpse?

. I don't see why the author has to spoil the chapter with something so out-of-character.

Maybe, just maybe because HE IS NOT THE SAME CHARACTER ????
The character we see here is not the MC, but Lumidia, the elven old hero.
Do ppl here even read the text or just look at the picture ? It's not jap raws.

Obviously he would listen to the opinion of the elf princess.

@Nk9bjP4A You're assuming that the MC is some super human who can one man army any and all adventurers on the floor without issue. He is clearly approaching this as an infiltration grab and go, this isn't the time for a power fantasy murder fest, he likely doesn't even have the power for that. Equally importantly here, who was it that opened the portal for him? It was the freaking guild master herself, if there was a sudden mass murder of adventurers on the 10th floor, you think there would be no repercussions? Seriously? He would just me making MORE enemies.

@NazrinMaus
1. Yes, elf rescue from immediate harm is the only goal here. Killing the prince is an extremely bad idea as I described above and would only serve to put both of them (him and elf) in even deeper shit (remember, the elf is a political piece right now, and her being an adventurer is part of her agreement with the king). Remember, he is weak on his own and he has nowhere to go. His only goal in life is to delve into the dungeon, if he makes enemies with the guild then he personally is SUPER screwed.
2. Again, it is both a terrible idea and quite unreasonable for him to start a murder spree of innocent adventurers here.
3. Again, see above.
4. You make it seem like he had a long discussion here. His brief chat didn't take much time at all and skipping it wouldn't have changed anything for the reasons above.

Essentially in order to actually kill the prince he would have had to also kill a significant number of other innocent adventurers that happened to be on that floor. An act that is both extremely risky and would also likely make him an enemy of the guild that manages the dungeon itself. This would make it impossible for him to achieve his own personal goal of going to this world in the first place. Not to mention that the elf girl he just saved is clearly NOT ok with unnecessary killing, making the act even more unrealistic as it would put the elf in MORE danger, going against the whole point of why he is there in the first place.

He is not all powerful, the people around him are not idiots, the MC is also much smarter than 99% of isekia protags. Regardless of possible future complications this outcome was the most realistic one.
