I for one, would like to see the two of them in a relationship where (name)-senpai can give it as much as he gets it. While a friendly banter back and forth is not unique per se, i think once a "will they won't they" situation eventually (inevitably) falls to it's rest state (they will), often one or both suddenly stop ribbing the other.
It would be refreshing to see them find a comfortable back-and-forth, which would be the ultimate culmination of their character arcs. (Sempai has the confidence to talk to nagatoro, and even go toe-to-toe. Nagatoro finds in senpai a real equal in terms of emotion which she doesn't often)
