Karma – Evil Neuro

One of my favourite evil song covers, and a song from a micro genre I call "minumum wage rage"

This tripped something in the back of my head, so here's two songs by Jim Croce, who was taken far too early. Jim had two number 1 hits in the US - "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "Time in a Bottle", and his entire discography is worth listening to as he was a standout singer-songwriter from an era packed with them.

The first one, "Workin' at the Car Wash Blues", is a light-hearted entry in this vein, from his final studio album I Got a Name, released in December of 1973, three months after his death in a plane crash. This pretty much sums up what I expect is the attitude of a significant portion of the regular posters here, oddly enough.

The second is the title track from the same album, and with a few of his other late works gives a hint that, had he survived, he would have been an exceptionally sought-after writer as rock music developed throughout the mid 70's.

the vocals are indeed good, but the lyrics are that specific brand of bland where they sound like they were written by a non-native English speaker. 6.3/10

there's no way that this is the first time i'm listening to the original, but it sure feels like it. i honestly have no idea if i'm listening to a cover or remix whenever i hear this song. 8.1/10

i can confirm that it does, and it includes yours truly. i do think the original Metro version is far superior to Evil Neuro's cover though. the original is almost haunting in a way that's not conveyed through Evil Neuro's singing. 6.4/10
