I'll rate any song posted in this thread*

This thread is a copy of Xnot's original I'll rate any song posted in this thread thread, but with some caveats added (note the asterisk in the title!).

I like finding new music, appreciate when people share what they like, and will listen to a wide variety. But honestly, some of the songs I see posted around here are ones I never want to hear again. So to prevent my ears from being subjected to music that I'd rather not subject them to, I've added rules to which songs I will rate.

1. A user may only post two songs to be rated per day. (This is somewhat flexible—basically just try not to post more than two songs on the same calendar date.)
2. After a user has shared five or more songs in this thread, if the ratings I've given their songs average under a 5/10, I will no longer rate/listen to the songs they post in this thread.
   1. I may raise or lower the threshold from 5/10 to a number other than 5 out of a number other than 10 (though it'll probably still be out of 10).

I will rate mainly based on enjoyment (i.e. how likely I would be to add a song to one of my playlists). Also protip: melody is probably the most 'make or break' part of a song to me (I know, so unique).

i like a lot of songs, it just mainly depends on the melody.

Most of what I listen to leans hard on negative emotions, not the joyfull stuff you are looking for.

good songs can be upbeat or downbeat, i don't discriminate. (well, i do discriminate, but only against bad songs.)

pretty sure I have the weather channel's "Smooth Jazz 2" on speed dial. It's a decent album, but I should listen to it again sometime soon.

Yes, you are correct, I like to listen to horror movie bgm a lot. I'll just be chilling at home cooking while listening to The Thing main theme on the loudest speaker I got.
