Damn, Nee-chan is asking all the questions we readers have circling around in our lewd little heads. Bless her!

Regarding Chief's family, I remember that it was definitely stated that he had a daughter he was close to (she lives with him, maybe?), but has there been any mention of a wife actively in the picture?

A profound Truth in there. No matter which job you land, the perks or the prestige involved, the thing that makes or breaks a job is the work culture surrounding it and the people that support it. Inspiring Leadership and supportive teammates make you stick it out even when things are not as lucrative or conditions are difficult. All the money and prestige don't mean shit if you hate your coworkers and your bosses suck.

@Sylveran fukkin agreed.

Also the line "When you start working, you're basically starting from zero" is also true. Even the "what you learned in university is useless" is true to an extent. University trains you in getting familiar with your craft but each work place has different methods and strategies that books cannot easily list down. Even if you were a summa cum laude in college, you'd still have to learn the ropes and your superiors will always have something they can teach you.

lmao the platitudes in this comment section(and chapter, but it's a manga so that's a given) Yeah everyone thinks to themselves "I gotta work hard, Bob from accounting is a nice guy". Jesus.

Also friendly reminder, Chief doesn't wear a ring.

That stuff about people is something I'd get behind as well. Having been in those situations really shines a light on what having this and that kind of people around does to your experience at work.
