Image server update: We are adding another one!

As some of you might have noticed, some of the older chapters did not load for a while yesterday. This was due to our EU server's HDDs potentially on its deathbed. Fearing the worst, I acquired another EU server as its replacement.

Luckily, rebooting the server seems to have solved the intermittent issues, but it does show that having 2 servers is not enough in the event that one does permanently die.

As a result, I am keeping the second EU server, which means that we have 3 image servers and 3 full copies of all our image archives.

On a side note, the hosting service we launched last week (mangadex.com - MangaDex Network) has been a great success, with over 30 groups having signed up for a blog. ?

Also of note: .com and .org are hosted on entirely different servers. If .org ever goes down, it won't affect .com. No need to worry about ever losing your blogs as a result.

the .com is still blocked by the indonesian govt, FYI. to comply with the country's very loose definition of obscenity. it's amazing how in terms of "obscenity" and "religious slander" they define it so loosely you might as well call it a political weapon...

We aren't tight on money at all, we're fairly confident we'll be able to last on user donations alone far into the future. We'll only run ads if all other alternative methods of funding fail :^)

I'm unsure if some sort of index (heh) will be made available on MD Blogs. I personally think it's the job of the groups to advertise their own site/blog. I'm unsure if they would welcome such an index.
