Again, this is probably the thing he would have did if the Destiny didn´t literally make thrown a girl from the heaven up to him. A girl much more really fitted to his real likings in women.
Without Yami´s two meetings/dates, he probably would have returned to home to cry in his bedroom and think in other plan to try to being noticed by Hikari. Yes, is still his decision, but is a decision taken under big pression, and over all, with Yuu knowing even better than Yami herself she already fell in love with him and this is his big opportunity to finally get the lovely girlfriend he always wanted, even if this girl is not Hikari.
