Can we get rid of yet another shitty "love triangle" already? Bffr, his growth and the pain he went through could've been shown without cheap shit like this.

Tell what you want, but I like Ayami. Fmc is shallow compared to her

this is so ass lol, it's not even about the misdirection from the author, it's just boring asf to see the characters make a huge deal of such a banal situation

Hikari is totally becoming a decoy protagonist at this rate.

inb4 the first step Ayami does is to break up with him for her "revenge" at life. We already know from the present that she considers Yuu her ex-boyfriend, so at some point this (technically) vanilla experience for her and Yuu (not for Hikari, OFC) is going to end before the present day where Hikari catches them in the act.

I'd love to blame Yuu for not telling Hikari he was in a relationship before, but the key term here is "was" since they've already broken up when Hikari started making moves on him. He was probably feeling very conflicted when on one hand, his old crush is sending mixed signals probably starting to make moves on him, but on the other hand, there's his ex-gf who he can still get back together with.

Anyway, I was wondering what the previous shitstorm was about, but now that I caught up it's BSS instead of NTR (still bad mind you, but at least Hikari can cope that Yuu was never hers, so he technically couldn't be stolen from her). Now, if Yuu and Ayami officially rekindle their relationship, then this technically turns Hikari into the homewrecker if despite that, she still decides to pursue her feelings for him.

inb4 author wanted to write a story where the readers were rooting for the homewrecker all along

EDIT:
By "revenge", Ayami probably meant リベンジ (revenge, second meaning) which when used by Japanese typically means to take another shot at something. She wants to have a second go at happiness in life with him in spite of her shitty circumstances. So now that makes me more curious about why they even broke up in the first place.

People saying this is dragging out are also the same people who would literally follow 400 chapters of a "will they won't they" no stakes slop with awe in their eyes while commenting "GET MARRIED ALREADY!!!!!11" after every single chapter.

Start reading something that is not a romcom slop for once.

You know, this NTR isn't so bad. Only had to get throat fucked to realize the sweet taste of this arc.

I'm actually convince that Ayami and Yuu were dating up shortly before chapter 19 or 20. The fact that the two of them were able to turn what was a one-night stand into a, as of chapter 26, into a multi-months-long relationship is something. The cracks are there, but it's due to Ayami's insecurities and Hikari's shadow looming over their relationship. Something, I think, Yuu picked up on rather quickly. Also that fact that both of them were emotionally charged in chapter 21 wouldn't make sense if they broke up months' prior, instead of days, maybe weeks at the latest.

I'd love to blame Yuu for not telling Hikari he was in a relationship before, but the key term here is "was" since they've already broken up when Hikari started making moves on him. I still don't understand some people are insisting Yuu would tell Hikari he got a girlfriend or was in a relationship. He doesn't have to reveal every facet of his life to his CF, especially his love life. it just seems plain weird to me.

This chapter draws a parallel with Chapter 1.
Find it utterly hilarious that the author actually goes on Twitter to clarify things for the readers. At this point I have zero investment in the story but all the investment into the discourse within this fan base.

I have now gone full circle from thinking initially that the author was good, to terrible to now an absolute genius - this is like rental GF levels of drawing insane engagement within the fan base via discourse.

Ofc Occam's razor is that the author just fucked up with their extremely wild idea of rearranging the story (the fact they go out on Twitter to clarify things just shows further that they're not that confident) and then it just kind of ended up that the insane outrage ended up generating engagement. Tho as I understand the outrage is more on the western readership side.

(Btw, I love how I keep finding you in all the same comment sections where we both hate the manga and are just bashing the nonsense. Masochism is such a funny thing)

At some point, Ayami returned to school, and Hikari became, in her own words, her “best friend.” So how did Ayami not connect the dots?
Everything she knows is that Yuu is/was in love with a childhood friend who is now attending her school. And that the said childhood friend is good at studying and sports.
What she also knows from Yuu is that his love was unrequited and that the name of a person Hikari likes is Ta-kun (while she only knows him as Yuu).

I don't think that all of this would be enough to deduce that Yuu's crush was Hikari, since there are contradictions (at least from the information available to her).
