Can't fault her for being dishonest. If we remove their feelings towards one another from the equation and focus soley on their friendship, Hikari was open with Yuu about everything, meanwhile Yuu was having a second life he was deliberately hiding from Hikari.
Being insensitive doesn't require any malice, only stupidity, Hikari was being insensitive because she did not know any better. Yuu was actively hiding his relationship from Hikari, which is a consicous decision to keep her in the dark, it is a malicious betrayal of trust.
I don't think omitting some of your personal life details requires any malice either. Especially with him being equally oblivious to Hikari's crush on him.
But well, not much to argue here about.

malicious betrayal of trust is insane way to put it lol. Yuu and Hikari are just childhood friends man, they dont have to share every details of their life to each other. like Hikari hasnt even realise her feelings for Yuu during this time lol
Tell me you've never been in a relationship before without telling me. One person clearly is living a double life while romantic tension is present with another person.

Bro I still don't understand why this story went this direction like what is this forced exposition of sympathy points
Agreed. However, I am loyal to Hikari and not falling for the bait. I have no sympathy for this rat homewrecker who destroyed not just another man's home but her own! Foolish woman should become a nun and officiate Hikari and Yuu's wedding.

My point is, he was trying to avoid meeting her because of the potential complications it could lead to, not because of resentment or lack of interest.
oh yeah i absolutely agree with this statement
And (again, my assumption) once he didn't find her there, the feeling of actually wishing to meet her grew stronger and overcame the potential discomfort.
My view on this is Yuu does not actively try to find Yami while he was waiting for Hikari. Tho I could see a scenario where he saw Yami while waiting and those feeling of wanting to meet suddenly grew so he chase after her

Nothing critically wrong with Yuu, but he was generally shifty and avoidant of Hikari, what he did was basically lie by omission. And I guess there's the part where he kinda jumped off the deep end by getting entangled with Yami and accepting her offer to come lick each other's wounds (and genitals) out of desperation. Which is not that much of a red flag, not anywhere on Yami's level, but for Hikari specifically, it basically dooms their potential relationship, she will have to look past way too much of his baggage.
Lie by omission? Does he even know Aya and Hikari are friends? We gotta remember Aya wasnt friends with them while Yuu and her was going out and most likely after this breakup , the chapter before the perspective change is the first time they saw each other in a while. Also baggage? You mean having an ex girlfriend , thats the baggage?

Shit, that was way worse than I expected.
So, she broke up with Yuu/ghosted him because she felt guilty for what happened to her mom. I kind of undertand her. In her twisted mind in that moment, she thought she deserved that.
Yami gang loves you, girl.
YUU, YOU HAVE TO FIX HER. MAKE HER HAPPY

the baggage being yuu already lost his virginity lol. but seriously tho, genuinely believe people opinion on yuu/yami wouldnt be as harsh as it is right now if there was no sex in the story

So Yami used Yuu to escape her shitty life for a brief time, Hikari has liked Yuu forever Edit: Hikari has like Yuu for about a year (my bad for forgetting the start of the comic), Yuu liked her, but was too cowardly to say anything, moved onto Yuu since she was interested, then went back to Hikari after Yami ended it.

Yuu's the only one here who I dislike at this point.

Or he just wanted answers b/c apparently she ghosted him after like 3 months of telling him she was heads over heels in love w/ him.

YUU, YOU HAVE TO FIX HER. MAKE HER HAPPY

Yami went from codependent relationship with Yuu to codependent relationship w/ her mother b/c apparently that's all her mother ever modeled for her and Yami centering the ship around sex is every "deadbeat mom" in manga, so probably also learned from her mom.

Aya seems to be on the way to fixing herself and should do more of that and not fallback into a self-destructive codependent relationship that her and Yuu are too immature to see is unhealthy.

He knows that Aya comes to the same school Hikari does, he at the very least could've told her that there's a chance he can meet her ex there instead of getting all jittery, but that's short-term.
Long-term, he was having a long and dramatic relationship with somebody while keeping it all secret from Hikari, and Hikari is not just some girl next door to him, and that's ignoring any romantic feelings they had/have for one another.
Also baggage? You mean having an ex girlfriend , thats the baggage?
An ex-girlfriend, who's also her best friend whom Yuu was fucking while Hikari was being all flowery or something. The shit's messy, for Hikari, that is baggage. Had Yuu and Hikari met as strangers, Yuu having an ex wouldn't be a problem, but with the situation as is, this is gonna complicate their relationship too much.

Where do people get the idea that Hikari was in love with Yuu since forever? It's literally the opposite; Yuu was in love with Hikari since God knows how many years, Hikari only fell in love with Yuu a year before the story starts. Or the first year of highschool. Yami and Yuu got together when Hikari was not interested in Yuu. Outside of being private about his love life, which I believe people have a right to so long as they're not hurting anyone, Yuu did nothing wrong!
