My theory last chapter was that Hikari's resoluteness is supposed to be a contrast for Yuu's lack of resolve & that's one of the reasons Hikari gets better results w/ Aya (Aya grows more as a person through Hikari's friendship) and in this chapter her friends are talking about how she's hot blooded and how her teacher expects that she'll pull it through.

I still really dislike how the story has been told, but I think there are paths to help save this story. I've said a lot that the story has potential and I just think it's been poorly told and the way the manga originally was released was awful. There have been times I have completely lost faith in this story. If they had followed the current longer chapter format and condensed the first 20 chapters down to 10 and expanded it more, I think it would come off better and not as jarring. However, you can't change the past and what is done is done.

I still think Yami is awful but if the current story is told properly and there is a lot of context added to the current arc, I can see a redemption for the story myself. But that's going to take a lot of convincing and good story telling to do. I'm not convinced it will happen, but would be pleasently surprised if it is. I also think Maruto has the talent to make the story work.

Hell if anything, Maruto and Yom's art are really good at keeping people reading.
