As I said in the spanish chap, aherm:

So what's next? They gonna reveal that Yami also took Hikari's virginity too?

If so, it was TOTALLY foreshadowed guys, like for real. Back when Yami almost frenched Hikari, it was cause they had always been a couple behind the scenes, but we just didn't see it is all.

And Hikari's attraction for Yuu was cause she sensed Yami's essence still lingering in him.

So when she saw them face fucking, her shock was cause she saw her GF cheating on her.

Trust me, I'm a physician.
Fuck it, this is cannon now.

From what I’ve seen it feels like they’re just attracted to characters who fuck shit up. Like that’s the most common response I’ve gotten is “she’s interesting and shakes things up!”
Lol, I do like her cause I think she is or was interesting so this might be accurate, tho I'd like to point out I think it's not really about romantic preferences but liking the potential of what the story could become (for me at least), also I don't feel strongly over her kiss with Yuu so I personally don't have enough to actually hate her. For reference there's only one character that I actually hate and I still think she's pretty interesting and well done.

Tbf regarding Yami tho so far she's not that great of a character and can be summed up as "my life sucks and I make shitty choices cause I'm sad", in hindsight the main reason I find her interesting is that it's the first time I come across this kind of plot and it's also being told in a "unusual way" so idk if she herself is actually interesting.

I don't dislike what they did for the chapters up to the kiss (including the kiss) tbh, but the pacing for the rest of the manga has been pretty bad, and while I don't think the author is bad I do think he needs an editor (or a better one lol).

TL;DR: She was interesting to me, however this has been dragging out for so long I don't really care.

I’ve always said the most frustrating part of this manga is how they chose to tell it. The format, pacing, and framing have been the biggest Bugbears.

My second biggest issue is how the two stories intersecting, I feel, hinder both. Like just Yami’s story told separate could have been really good, just Hikari’s story told separate could have been really good, combining them the way the author did just makes Yami look like a bitch and Hikari look like a side character, both of which really undercut the intended narrative.

Are we talking about a resoluteness of a girl who spent an entire year trying to confess to a boy she spends a lot of time with and still failed?
Yes but she didn’t just give up immediately after encountering setbacks. Like she has her down moments but she pulls herself back up. Compare that to Yami or Yuu who fold like paper bags at the slightest pressure

If you still think Yami is a side character, you haven’t been reading. This manga has 3 protagonists. We got Hikari pov, We got Yami pov and I’m guessing to end things off we’ll get Yuu pov where he chooses Hikari.
At this point it is Yuu who seems more like a side character than any of the girls. He really needs his own POV arc to elevate him more than just a trophy BF.

I want to know if he was that dense in arc 1 and truly did not notice Hikari's crush on him. Cause at that point he wasn't no dumb virgin protag like the usual, he should have known already what the signs where for a girl with a crush.

He was acting like someone who had never been intimate with a girl before in arc 1.

Author needs to prove to us that his difference in behavior before and after the reveal was not a retcon.

I was referring to the girl who, as her friends said in this chapter, the teacher trusts to not give up on Aya, but here:

Hikari's problem w/ the confession, as her friends - including Aya! after she knew that Hikari's crush is Yuu - call her out on, is that she's idealistic and looking for the "perfect romantic moment" and that perfect moment keeps getting messed up- the misadventures with lunch at the amusement park, old friends showing up the festival and then Yuu telling her about taking the exam, the kiss climax. Like that she invites him again and again after her moments get messed up, instead of bailing, is strength.
