I had a pretty strong feeling Yuu ran into Yami by chance, so I guess eat it, folks who assumed he sought her out to intentionally shit on Hikari's feelings because they see themselves and possibly a past experience in her and want the guy to be a scumbag just that much.
Some seem surprised by the fact that Yuu had feelings for Hikari all along, when:
--Hikari and Yami have been mostly narrating this thing, so we only really see his dialogue from their POV
--Yuu is overheard telling his junior that there's someone he's liked for a very long time
--He tells Yami after he couldn't get it up that he's hung up on his childhood friend
--We see him get uncomfortable (Hikari also notices) when their old pals reveal that he had tried and failed to get into her school
--He flat out tells her that he wanted to get into her school to be worthy of her but doesn't feel like he can be
--This is more speculative, but it seems odd to avoid someone for a week after they watch you jerk off if there's nothing between the two of you
