I'm honestly surprised we didn't have the typical crowds joining in the "cheater" accusations, since he really would have done a lot differently than his usual.

Probably because a lot of people thought the same of how much of a pompous bastard Mitsurugi is, and they're just reveling in the fact that he was defeated by someone he deemed 'inferior'. It's honestly impressive that he got that high in the rankings with next to no studying involved, but talent can only take one so far on its own.
