One thing I have to say is that the romance tag is quite misleading...30 chapters in and we don't even get a blush from Liz to Miyabi, let alone any progress on the personal level. Maybe they'll have that moment down the line? At the moment they only seem like normal friends to me: Liz just see Miyabi as a teammate and vice-versa, and Miyabi sees Liz as someone much younger than him and not a target for romance.

Yeah Miyabi treats Liz more like a daughter than a love interest. Hell, that's how he treats most of the girls.

I am finding this one to be delightful. It doesn't appear deep at first but if you actually look at what the characters are saying and thinking, they clearly have their own perspectives and motivations that set this apart from the usual garbage we get in isekai.

The main character is a pretty simple guy and doesn't need all the power or resources that usually turn this sort of story into a powercreep mess where they take on entire armies solo or some bs. He literally just needs people to ask him to solve a problem and he can have fun figuring out how to do it within the bounds of what his skillset can do. Even better when he does take steps to improve his capabilities.

The female lead has a confidence problem, which is normally concerning for these sorts of things because it usually involves a lot of simping for MC. There is an element of her having an inferiority complex regarding his OP abilities but it's a little refreshing that this is a genuine character trait that goes back to her 'genetics' (if inherited class and quality are indeed genetic) and informs the kind of person she has always been and how she interacts with characters OTHER than the MC. More importantly, we have hope that she will be able to find her own way rather than 100% depending on MC to develop a sense of self-worth. Her desire to be with him isn't based on a complete dependence on him, but that they both get joy and value from helping and being around eachother.

Putting together all the other characters, I am relatively satisfied with how their motivations tie into their response and interactions with MC and FL. They all have their own relationships and it doesn't get completely overshadowed by how insane MC's abilities are for what they're used to. I hesitate to use the word 'realistic' but the politics and self-interest on display make at least as much sense as the people who have the usual 'make the world a better place' mentality that tends to drown out these sorts of stories where money and resources are no object.

Trains? 🤣
Why not an airship or a damn plane?
This is a good question - while I lack expertise in the subject I think trains actually make plenty more sense even in the real world but especially in the context of an isekai. The research side of things will surely be more in line with what they already know and the industries needed to replicate it on scale should adapt much faster than what you would need to invent an airship and the industries to support it. I would venture that nations in the real world would be also more economical using high speed rail over aircraft.

There certainly are times where flying makes more sense, but if what you want is simply getting from one city to another in a commute-style trip then the limitation of laying and maintaining tracks is a non-issue.

Big fan of this series, definitely one of my favorites on Mangadex. As far as cozy, silly, and surprisingly heartfelt isekais go, this is my pick. Big shoutout to the translations volume 3 and further too! Those are just chef's kiss.

Its great except the releases are so slow that i generally forget this exists between releases and then take 10 minutes trying to remember the plot. It would be awesome if it was a weekly release, but its monthly and the translation seems to be caught up to the source according to mangaupdates so its going to be years before this goes anywhere.

It would only be considered if someone moved to another city or died.
Uhh, didn't she technically move to another city? Has to stay in the capital for the academy & all.

I presume it means if she properly moves her base of operation to the capitol city, so she'd have to become an active adventurer there instead (and any other medieval requirements there were for moving to another nobles territory).

I will say this is the lowest rank I ever see about crafting manga...

I know I only read 10 chapters...
But I so confused by this MC... He have object to become architect, but the way I see... This more like adventuring life with crafting skill... I'm oky if the MC keep gathering resources...

but where is the crafting skill where is the building he make...

(will edit this if something happen pass to 20 chapters)

I'm just here to drop an appreciation comment for Dazaiscans! I wanted to acknowledge my thanks for your patience dealing with the slow raw drops, and your continued efforts towards translating this work.

In short, thank you very much.

Right? The level of depth the author has put into the character writing and dialogue is actually so good. It's clear that the author actually cares to bring the characters to life instead of pigeon-holing the story into yet another generic isekai template.

This manga currently has an 8.54 rating so I decided to read it out of curiosity since I like fantasy stories.

…. Why? Does it get better much further in or something?

So far the art is dull and lacking detail or strong foundational work as if it were a rough draft.
The story is pretty uninspired with nothing much having really happened so far; this is forgivable in other slice of life series because they have other elements to compensate like strong character writing or worldbuilding, strong dialogue or storytelling, strong humor or heart, or they feel philosophical and have some sort of message they want to convey.

This manga doesn’t really have any of that. It has nothing to say, it’s not pleasing to look at, the writing is weak, the characters have nothing interesting about them to the point that I can’t even remember their names or motivations, and nothing really happens of note.

Guy gets isekai’d and wants to craft stuff is a dime a dozen concept that’s been done very poorly and very well, but those stories still manage to be memorable and even sometimes enjoyable at their worst and exceptional at their best. There’s just nothing here and as a reader, I don’t know what this story wants me to feel. There’s nothing to latch onto or invest my time and emotions into. It’s simply bland and forgettable.

It’s a 5/10 for me personally, but I’d love to know why it has such a high rating or what exactly people see in this that I’m struggling to find. Maybe it picks up and becomes fantastic after a dozen or more chapters but it’s a slog trying to reach that point so far.
Strongly disagree that I'm wondering if we even read the same manga or that maybe this just isn't for you. Can I ask what manga you'd consider as 8 or 9?
