At least in this manga he didn't mysteriously stay fat despite training and eating properly. He just gave up immediately because the continuing bullying killed his motivation.

But damn, that "in another world you will get massively rewarded after suffering so much in this world" theme was blatant in this story. He performed the heroic deed of opening a door and got a bunch of cheat skills. Ironically the owner of the door, his late grandpa, kept telling him to smile to find his happiness, but it was his frustration and rage instead that actually led to that happiness, when he accident found the hidden room, as a result of his outburst.

It eventually gets revealed that there is fantasy on Earth too and his family could use spiritual power in past fighting demons and stuff
He is always fat because he had more spiritual power than a human could handle.
Anyway some demons, that his ancestors sealed, try to take revenge on the family. They possess his parents and even manipulated his siblings. Since they couldn't fully control them, they only tormented the talented MC, hoping he would kill himself.
At last MC uses his powers to purge the demons from his parents. As a result the parents don't remember anything they did to MC.
