No he upped his int stat, he's just coming from a place (mentally) where he can't even grasp the idea of someone having romantic feelings for him. He has only had friends for a few months, even that is something very new and unusual to him. Earlier chapters have things like his parents saying it is a waste of water to wash his clothes. If you're treated like that your entire life, with only one person being nice to you, you're not going to notice when girls start going gaga over you.

Well anime is about 6-7 (10 max.) chapters ahead IMO, but I doubt it will get a second season anytime soon, so the manga will eventually pass the current anime story, so don't really see a problem.

The assassin girl fell for him during their extended time together training and fighting side by side. And even then she wasn't entirely sure. The princess is spoiled and quick to judgement, and when he saved her life, she decided that she loved him. Again, gaining love for somebody in a dangerous situation is a pretty normal thing even IRL.

Okay, sure, but an assassin with low accuracy is just a joke, not at all likely to reach the level of renown she has. It's like a bodybuilder with a negative strength modifier. Technically possible, but not going to do well when compared with others who're built and trained for the same job.

While it may be a few chapters ahead with kaori coming t the other world an all but the anime also skipped so much its actually impressive. They defo wasted all the budget on visuals for the first 6 eps cause its got awful after thaf
