I'm enjoying this series, but I really am being thrown off by the idea of him being so "interesting" that he makes all these women (and even men) fall for him. Everything he says is so bland, he's a base model basic bitch.

I wish a bit more thought was put into making him an interesting character... at least when he's playing the role of streamer - which would be surprisingly accurate to real streamers actually.

I mean seriously, he's chatting about how a guy told him to shut up?... That's it? That's less of a yarn and more of a string.
I can see where you are coming from but the story's focus is the interactions the yandere's have with the stream so the topics like him chatting at school may not be interesting for a stream but they spur interaction with the main cast. That and there are plenty of streamers that mostly chat with stream about stuff in their life

Based on ch. 1, we should expect the 5th (and final?) yandere in the next few chapters - the redhead on ch 1 pg 2. Wonder what angle of semi-OP she'll be coming from.

We have literal fkin royalty (money), the saintess (religion), the demon queen (power), and an epic assassin (protection), so what would the last one's shtick be...

Like most people predicted, Crow is yandere girl #4 & was already obsessed with him. Can't wait for the chapter where they all find out where he lives because that will be quite the spectacle. Thanks for the translations.
nun girl so far is winning since she knows who he is

But how would the assassin know unless they had to kill his fans?...
They could have kept getting assigned missions that were clearly from a bunch of crazy people who are fans of MC.thw requests would probly be something like "Streamer-senpai talked a lot of shit about racism in his last stream so I want you to kill all racists for me. I'll pay over a bazillion dollars for each one you kill." But like from 70 different people. Which would show the assassin how batshit the fans are and I'd enjoy Crow just being terrified of even slightly getting on MC's nerves but the MC is just confused about why Crow is scared of him.

My only takeaway from this chapter is that there's a boarded up part of the wall on the outside of the clock tower that's visible to the naked eye.

Either the city council doesn't care or they sent someone up to investigate and either he never came down or he saw what was there, noped out, and told the council to not worry about it.

I could totally see this kind of streamer being popular. Zatsudans where you talk just about anything like what you ate for dinner is a hit for some people. And yeah, chatting about how a guy told him to shut up and then lamenting about it is interesting for some people. It helps that he supposedly has a great voice.

This is like hundreds of years before the time of TV, social media, radio, anything
Just to add a perspective, he’s the first and only one in the business in that world.
Since he's the only form of entertainment of this particular type, he has a monopoly over the viewer ship.
Fair argument, but people are shown to have the receivers to pick up his broadcasts, the Demon Queen has a computer... MC HIMSELF has a computer. It seems he created the internet, but not the tech itself (unless I'm forgetting), so there must be some other forms of similar entertainment (such as radio broadcasts), surely?

I think the issue is that we're told he's popular for reasons, but the reasons why are never shown. We're supposed to believe he's an intellectual entertaining genius, but like I said, everything shown from him makes him seem like the most bland conventional loser out there.

i think its more likely that blasting his infinite magic on the world via his broadcasting is making people addicted to it.
That'd be an interesting twist - where he's inadvertently making everyone addicted to him, like he's a drug. He'd be something like a villain then. It'd also be an interesting twist on the yandere girls - they're actually not crazy, they're just jonesing for his magic (and explain behaviour such as getting "impregnated" by his voice)

Radio people weren't interesting and usually got popular through their hot voices and info
Is this true? Every old radio presenter I've ever listened to was genuinely interesting, and knew how to speak about things in a fascinating way. I suppose I wouldn't be shocked if this were the case though.

the story's focus is the interactions the yandere's have with the stream so the topics like him chatting at school may not be interesting for a stream but they spur interaction with the main cast.
Fair point, but I also feel like they could have still presented everything he's said, in a far more interesting way, making HIM seem interesting. I said it on the slavery chapter, but that was a great opportunity to show WHY he is considered such an cultural and intellectual force, but they simply had him say "slavery is bad, just ban it" is so vapid and facile. He's talking points, no matter the topic, have never been better.

I think if the comic's premise is that he is such an entertaining person that he's become a major political figure, showing a few examples of how/why that is the case is important - that slavery moment is a perfect opportunity and it was fumbled spectacularly in the writing department.

You are right, there are streams where people just watch others eat that are popular - those are very niche however, and I wouldn't call them a "cultural force" that the MC has supposedly become in this comic. Perhaps I'm expected to strain my incredulity even further to believe he would be popular?

Probably not by much. I've seen streamers who get twice as much live viewers on a zatsudan than on a game stream. Unlike a radio show, it's actually fun when you can interact with the streamer live, and when they aren't too focused on playing a game. Even just watching them interact with the viewers can be interesting, so you don't lose out if you never get a turn.

As for being a cultural force, it helps that the MC in this case has a monopoly over live streaming content. Certain influential or powerful people are listening to him and are gachikois. I'll reiterate that it helps that he has a great voice.

Just responding to this part.

Ch. 1 pg. 23, the transponders and the terminal exist, but the streaming network is his creation along with the streaming functionality of his “PC”, which implies other terminals are incapable of doing so.
Ch. 1 pg. 24, streaming/broadcasting is exclusive to him due to his “limitless” power, stronger than the demon lord (ch. 3 pg. 6) which is necessary to broadcast to that extent.

So, yes, he is the first and only streamer/broadcaster in that world; by default he has the ears of everyone with a transponder.

In addition, his worldview which is different from others in that world (as it is closer to ours) makes it interesting to his listeners. He can talk about things that sound “crazy” to his listeners (but normal to us), for example ch.2 pg. 16.
Also let’s not forget that he has OP powers along with a veil of anonymity, so in his mind he must feel pretty secure to say whatever he wants.

These two factors, 100% marketshare and novelty, as depicted in the series are what I believe the author brought up as the main reasons his content is popular.
Whether you agree with the author, that’s a different story of course.

I'm afraid to point it out, but it seems the cover of chapter 1 was sneakily changed and isn't where the other covers would be, so we can't even check out who the last girl you're talking about might be. :x

One thing that could be a factor is political momentum. Taking the slavery topic as an example, let's just say that there was attempts in the past to doing something about it, but the general populace just didn't have much of an opinion on it. There might be a vague sense of maybe its bad, but your average citizen is thinking about something else so the slaver owners and dealers, who have a lot more stake in it, can sway policies and opinions to keep the practice running. There are isolated opposition, but don't have the resources or support to fully take them on or make meaningful changes.

Then streamer-sama says "Slavery is bad, yo. Let's ban it". Suddenly its on everyone's mind. The opinion "Slavery bad" is prevalent. Immediately the day after the princess puts forth a bill to ban it, and because steamer-sama's words, the popular opinion is "Slavery Bad". People that didn't really care about this movement is suddenly invested. Then suddenly the people that are for slaves are the "enemy". They have a different opinion and "Slavery is Bad", therefore they are bad people. Very quickly those that can cut ties with the trade will do so immediately, and others will be working towards that, leaving only the super heavily invested one left to fend for themselves. The movement gains basically infinite momentum and the trade is abolished because a majority of the population heard and agreed with his statement.

The bottom line is that it wasn't just the princess that heard this, anyone listening at the time (which is implied to be the vast majority of the continent) also heard it. Anyone that didn't have an opinion on it now does, and its streamer-sama's opinion. Suddenly there was an opinion, and a rallying point. When that happens, even if the opinion was that slavery was good would change to being bad very very quickly.
