Even if Toughness won't help against big attacks, having only 1hp means you can die from a random cat scratching you...

toughness usually gives you +1 hp per level (you can take it at any level, and it continues to increase, so at level 20 you get +20 hp, even if you took toughness at level 1), and used to lead to other feats that did stuff like give you damage reduction. Also, iirc it's a bad idea to multiclass paladin with fighter, there really isnt much benefit compared to what you lose.

There are better classes to take if you really want to multiclass ranger, druid isn't the best.

The stuff you can make in dnd (polearm master that auto knockdowns anyone who moves within 20 feet, monks that move 100ft/round and have high initiative so they can use their stunning
palm on entire groups of enemies before they can even react, dual wielding hand crossbow expert that can attack 5 times a round with multiple spells buffing damage the damage of each bolt while you fly around out of enemy reach) can be pretty crazy, it's sad that there doesn't seem to be much creativity going on here. then again they are all below level 5

Yes, many cephalopods are incredibly intelligent creatures and it has been shown that they can experience pain through mechanisms that are both similar and different to vertebrates. Since the author is from Japan and the Japanese consume a lot of cephalopods, I wonder whether the author choosing both to have a cephalopod as a pet and make it cute is saying anything about the author's views toward their consumption or usage in Japan?

Of course, the other trope and, perhaps, improper generalization is that the Japanese also have a strange fascination with tentacles. Yet as of the current chapter, this doesn't appear to be the primary reason for the cephalopod's inclusion.

+3HP flat would be a horrible feat, if that's all that is to it. But being locked at 1HP is in a mixture of D'n'D and a real world environment is horrifying. It is true, he needs to get out of this zone. An unfriendly slap on his back in a rough tavern and he is a goner. Each event that initiates a roll 1dx+y with y>-1 will kill him. If he would at least get hands on a powerful "ignore any physical damage if it's not higher then 3" that would be something.

I hope it is this feat:
Toughness in Pathfinder 1st ed:
Benefit: You gain +3 hit points. For every Hit Die you possess beyond 3, you gain an additional +1 hit point. If you have more than 3 Hit Dice, you gain +1 hit points whenever you gain a Hit Die (such as when you gain a level).

I feel like the octopus just did a heavy foreshadowing to the Sunken Spiral City, and considering the identity of the ''Guild Master''...

His class, arcane trickster is alredy the worse multiclass in the game.

He kinda isnt interested in long term OP-ness but just getting as much early buffs as posible.
