I dunno, there's something :clunky: in this. I don't exactly know if it's the dialogue or the pacing...

I really hate how he got there, but i like the exploration of the tribal society. No magic, skills, etc definitely benefits it.

@jespoke :
this is "realistic" version when someone goes isekai-ed ...
MC only use his knowledge for cooking and a bit sales and management for selling food ...
nothing more, and nothing like special power or whatever ...
just a realistic skill of normal human being ...

Does this artist do hentai or doujins or something? I swear I’ve seen their art somewhere but I haven’t read the other manga listed to them.

As an absolute LOVER of this novel I am extremely disappointed in how much stuff is being glossed over in the story. I know this is pretty common in adaptations but this seems more egregious than normal

Ehh, its kind of hard to to narrow it down to one or two things. Obviously the major plot points are still there, but things feel like they are happening either out of order or just WAY too fast, this new chapter further solidifies my feelings on that. While i may not be able to describe his first or even second meeting with Kamyuu with any great detail since i read it over a year ago. I feel like i can say with almost certainty he didn't bring up the food stall idea on there very first meeting. Its just the manga is glossing over the proper character building stuff and just throwing the plot at us

Yes i am not naive to that fact. Ive been reading both for many years, and in more than one case one was an adaptation of the other. My only point was that this case feels particularly egregious in the amount of character development and exposition being cut out. Now the the most obvious comeback to this is "well if you have a problem with it don't read it", ( and please do not take this as me putting words directly in your mouth, only presenting a comment used very commonly in this situation) to which i reply. But i want to read it, and i want to like it, I ADORE this novel and i am hoping for others to as well, but if all they see is what the manga is showing I have a hard time seeing people reaching that level of fondness.

Man this is a really sloppy adaptation. They seem to blaze through every piece of character development, every major event. It has none of that slow buildup feel the LN had where you're legit fucking nervous for the MC. Forget the side characters even Ai Fa and Asuta barely get any time between themselves before its shoving them on to the next plot event as if the mangaka for this is just trying to get through a bullet point list as fast as possible. Damn shame too, as far as cooking series go this is one of the rare ones where it actually manages to keep things interesting and has more of a plot than just "my food makes people orgasm." You wouldn't know that just reading this manga though.

Oh well... only 7 more volumes to go before the official translation catches up to where Sky left off.

agreed, glad to see another LN reader here. What i love so much about this series is the fact that even though its technically a "cooking" manga the cooking iteselft is secondary mainy because half the ingredients he is using dont actually exist in our world just a few close substitutions. I always felt the main focus of this series was actually food culture and how it can help transend and translate over what most would consider irreparable cultural differences, but sitting down and sharing delicious food can soften those walls. Not to mention the amount of time effort and thought he put into everything he does feels so realistic for a chef in his position.

Gods the mC is infuriating at times. I get it he's 17 but really. Still, I am enjoying the story.
