I don't like how they frame the opponents as villains and like it's a big tragedy for Sally to die once. This is an MMO, expect to lose at some point, especially when you're stirring shit. You don't deserve a full flashback montage.

While I do see where Kyte is coming from, I have an opposing perspective; the anime adaptation made this event seem like a friendly rumble where there were no stakes. It was just a game event, and nothing more. Seeing them take it more seriously, even if they make the other guilds look more cruel, adds a nice coat of paint to an already good situation. Dread makes a good fodder villain though, not gonna lie.

People really seem to miss the massive Maplestory reference this entire series has, that alone is enough "explanation" on the fun and wacky mechanics in the series.
