Western countries are the only place cousin marriage are weird, you can thank the catholic church for that. It's fine in the mangos but we're better off without it.
So many questions... like how did a religion that started out with God killing a guy for the sin of not spooging into his brother's widow, and with two daughters who (allegedly) wanted to impregnate themselves by their dad so they got him drunk, etc, end up setting so many boundaries on who's allowed to do what with who? :shamihuh:

Hypocrisy, stupid rules and contradictions are the hallmarks of religion, that's what you get when you base your entire life on fairytale about sky daddy :thonk:

I wasn't expecting a development given they weren't paired with each other, but this is much better!

To put japans view on incest into perspective. In japans creation lore, the island of japan was formed when the sibling gods Izanagi and Izanami fucked.

always amazes me to see people complain about cousin romance in manga. like... youre reading a japanese comic book... stop imposing your culture onto someone elses and just enjoy it otherwise stfu. its always the same discussions again and over again... really derails from the actual content

with that being said...

In lots of places, including Japan and most of east Asia, marrying your cousin isn't even illegal. Heck Japan was insulted for so long there's very little social stigma attached to it at all and most of it is only recent based on contact with the western world, primarily America. You'll find tons of anime and manga with cousin relationships.
"You'll find tons of anime and manga with cousin relationships."

Of course your fucking sources are anime and manga lmao.

It's not like this isn't completely wrong, but touch some grass and stop watching incest porn.

"StOp PrOjEcTiNg JuSt CoNsUmE" - this is how you sound in my head.

Manga is prone to portraying incest, minors in sexual relationships and overdrawn lazy tropes (festivals, onsen trips, etc.). Whether that's a problem or not should be up to viewers and consumers to decide. But, you know, to decide anything people NEED to converse and exchange opinions.

This whole argument that you can't and shouldn't have an influence because you're not from Japan is just so stupid, especially because:
1. Going by that logic Sonic movie should've stuck to old Sonic's design. After all majority of people voicing their opinion back then wasn't going to watch the movie anyways
2. Manga isn't consumed by Japan alone and giant f-ing animes like Naruto, Dragonball and One Piece are the best proof of that. What, I can't say gear 5 in One Piece is bs because I'm not japanese? Piss. Off.

You do realise that's Judaism, don't you?

Christianity just copied the Jew kid's homework, then threw him under a literal bus.
