I read the 8 page thread someone linked. It got blocked with last posts being from some admin.
In there said admin said there will be no two buttons, so it seems this retarded behaviour of opening the chapter with in-chapter comments panel open and marking chapter read is going to stay.
Forums would stay too, just that reaching them will require looking for some hidden buttons/going to that panel/something. Basically using forums won't be easy, the embedded comments will be a forced stuff, and instantly mark chapters as read, so if you wanna comment on chapters made by a group you don't read - you will need to battle with the seen status.
Depending how retarded reaching forums for chapters discussions will be, it would potentially kill forum commenting, or at least heavily cripple it.
End result would be that people who don't like fighting with sites to reach what they liked, cause "devs" decided something they implemented that nearly nobody asked for is supposed to be the most prominent thing, will just stop using the thing they liked. At that point MD would be just a reader - at that point any other site that doesn't remove chapters is as good of a reader as MD? Just exporting what you already read or are reading on MD to the new site would be the only issue (and possibly from new site to other site if that site dies cause of not fallowing DMCAs and stuff).
