I think this and that are two separate things. He lived faithful to his philosophy which lead to him being mistaken about the reasons why people behave this way towards him. I don't think he's being spineless because once he decided that he has enough of this he goes through with it just fine.

I mean I don't think he's a complete dick yet, he's just giving her a taste of her own medicine. "All these girls loved him and were just struggling to express it, " and consequences exist, he doesn't need to hangout with her because she were being a dick to him for a long time.

Disclosure: this comment is just an opinion, what I say is by no means fact nor an attack on anyone’s character and/or preference.

All the characters are really unlikable in my eyes. The girls’ logic/way to get attention from the MC is so dumb. The MC is hard to sympathize with because the entire story feels like a cringey reddit post that you see on r/niceguys or r/thathappened where you can pretty much predict the outcome of how things will turn out. “Nice guy has glow up and girls regret making fun of him/rejecting him and then all the girls spend the entire time trying to reconcile and date him” I’m not saying it’s a bad idea to make a story with this plot, but it was so poorly executed (I mean MC having a glow up/stand up for themselves/better themselves for the sake of self improvement). I’ve seen the raws and for those of you who are interested about the next few chapters here’s a couple things you should be prepared for (but not entirely sure if this series has been axed or not, who knows someone might pick it up for the chapter out currently):
1. MC personality at the end of chapter 1 does not stay consistent for the upcoming chapters (He still stays nice and forgives very easily)
2. The story will primarily feature the 4 characters from the first chapter (if that wasn’t obvious) like no side characters/ supporting roles whatsoever
SPOILER WARNING STOP READING IF YOU CARE ABOUT FINDING OUT FOR YOURSELF
3. The next chapters are pretty predictable and follow the same pattern: Girl ends up meeting with MC one way or another, argues for a second, explains backstory of why girl likes MC, they reconcile, become friends again (and all of this happens within 1-3 chapters for each girl) might be hints of romance between characters, but it happens so quick after chapter 1 that it feels really flat and dry.
