Uhm, they made more effective potion (?) With cheaper price(?)
I don't know about cheaper, but the alchemist lady mentioned it's exactly the same as the original, no? Just that no one was able to transport it out until now.
Also the effects suddenly gaining healing is weird, since when they're at the bath town, it's just a potion version of sports drink. Did I missed something or did author just grab it from his arse for this new 'plot'?

I do agree that the rapid development of their businesses could've been done better. If they at least didn't make the portable versions, there would've been enough time to profit before the whole thing was shut down.

Ahem... so what's their side business have anything to do with clearing the dungeon that needs to be stopped by merchant man?
Merchants Guild misunderstood the sealing of dungeons. They think that if the dungeon is sealed, it will disappear completely, but it doesn't. Dungeons that have been sealed do not mean it disappeared and cannot be entered, but the number of strong monsters will not increase significantly. So, weak monsters still exist, and some of them can be used as a business, such use their fur for clothing materials. Areas that are "clean" can be used for plantations or livestock. Business from adventuring will decrease (not disappear), but the business as a whole will not destroyed, because another kind of business will arise from it.

The Merchants Guild just panicked, and instead of consulting the Adventurer Guild, they took the "dirty" route to solve the problem.

Edit:
After re-reading the WN, it turns out I was the one who misunderstood, lol, sorry. Merchants knew about "dungeon clearing", they knew dungeons would not disappear after being sealed and monsters would still exist even if they were only weak monsters. But they can no longer use adventuring as a profitable business. They had to change their business, and start the business from scratch, and that was very difficult. But, just as the war must be resolved asap, the dungeons must be immediately sealed. This is inevitable. This was the difference in views between adventurers and merchants regarding dungeons.

Way to deflate the stakes
