Because it's cool. Also I might be biased due to Irvine's Command Wolf from Zoids: Chaotic Century. Though these magic mechanical monsters are a bit different from Zoids, being only semi mechanized.

mechanical beasts... i do feel sorry for these for being cyborgs and that they are so aggressive like hell. i would be too if someone did do painful alterations on me to turn me into a killing machine. i would be... pissed.

but i can see pets that are cyborgs because it gives them a chance to get a long and happy life. i do wonder if they will get a cyborg pet?
