I love that the main character, Cid, loves the very same things most of us do about shadow powers and exults in acting that fantasy out without realizing he's the only one actually acting and everyone else he thought was 'in on it' takes it very seriously.
It's what separates this from generic power Fantasy #15874
By the way guys, if you like the Manga, the light novel id even better and you can buy it with a great translation here in the West on Amazon. It's pretty far ahead of the Manga and newest volume is almost out.
The one month waiting period makes me re-cap the previous chapter. And the MC is just something else.
Someone should've already green lit this for an anime?
Much better than most of the generic crap turned anime. A "right" studio can make this shit into a fukin' masterpiece.
For every single person asking "why there's no anime?" of this manga, i have the answer...
NOT ENOUGH MATERIAL!!
Just see this manga, it is only in 20ish chapter! Even the main/source story (LN) is only a little bit farther than this (the latest english translated novel is volume 2, at the end of this arc, you can buy it on Amazon). Yeah, the newest volume will be released, but it will just make this manga has only 3 novels as a source material, not many difference and "just enough" material for 1 season. At that little amount, the studio cant have many choices to be selective and it will be hard to plan the next season.
Some of you will ask, "If LN is not enough, why not use WN?"
Dude, do you see & read the quality of the WN story at the latest chapter? Its going downhill, man...
zombie, his disguise revealed to a new unimportant character (the prisoner), etc
And we cant blame him, the author clearly in dire needs of an editor & advisor, which he didnt have by making the WN. The author clearly stop the WN so he can focus to polish the LN, with the help of many people from the publisher, to prevent the "downhill" he does in WN. Not every author is as great as the "Death March" author who can balance the work of LN & WN and keep the quality stable.
And the most important reason to not use the WN: "the legal aspect". When an WN author story get published, it means the author has a contract with the publisher. To make an adaptation (manga, anime, merch, etc) you need to contact not just the author, but the publisher too so they can get some share. If, at the time of adaptation, they need more material and take it from another source other than published material (WN not LN), it will make the share of profit become complicated. "Do we need to pay the publisher for this?" "Sure they publish that part, and we use it, so we need to pay for it" "But they dont publish this part right? This is 100% the author part from the WN, the publisher do nothing to contribute in this part, at least not yet, so we dont suppose to pay them, just pay the author" "But,..." etc.
That's the reason why every single "Adaptation" tags you see here is almost 100% an adaptation from LN, even if its include the WN site, the story adapted is always from the LN version which takes priority as the "Canon" story.
EDIT: Yes, you read it right. Even if the WN come first, it is always the LN version which considered Canon/the Correct version. As it is more polished, more "smooth" flow, and more consistent. Every other adaptation of the story always adapted from LN.
