As I've posted a few times the series kept going for too long to have been axed dozen of chapters ago, people did accuse of that for like over 30 chapters after all lol
That was literally one person who said that 30 chapters back when the attack on the HQ started. It being axed was not a popular sentiment until chapter 52 when the pace clearly shifted to breakneck speeds. Regardless if the decision to end it came from the editors or the mangaka, this ending was not the plan from the start unless they are just terrible storytellers.

Thanks for translating to the end, I really liked it despite the weird pacing.

Also seeing everyone remind me there's so many of them we never even saw fight. I really like the plant girl's ending too.

people started calling out the axe when the villain group got wiped which was 17 chapters ago. This is a weekly manga so it's not out of the question for it to be given that long to finish. Plus it's hard to believe that killing all the recently introduced antagonist was part of the plan before the apparent axing.

i mean its kind of a plot hole ending because she erased the concept of youmafication but somehow there are still fully youmified people who i guess aren't people and just appear ex niello now? also why is she shogun suddenly i thought she was banished for disobeying and betraying basically the entire government of her homeland. so yea speedrun ending here sadly.

Nin'you won't turn into youmas anymore but too bad for those who are already turned like the dragon wife of that Black Vest killed by Cattleya. Mimi and Raito just got special treatment by Cattleya since Kagura had their aramitamas with her.
And the Shogun and everyone in power in not-Japan (might be including Kagura's father and sister) are dead. So the only one who could oppose would be the masked samurai who pretty much wanted them back.

The art is beautiful as always. While it was nice to see all those characters again, it also highlighted how much potential this manga wasted by speedrunning its second half.

The other black vests; Judlich is brother of one of the black vests?!; the barely shown, undeniably funny side characters in the wolf order; Kagura is suddenly the shogun?!; Raito is her consort or what? Kagura's stalker is still hanging around?; what is up with the youma outbreak? Their number should be going down afterall, if ninyou no longer turn, right?; the old samurai lady is still walking the lands ...

If it looks interesting, I certainly plan to read the author's next work. Their drawing skills are undeniably good afterall. I just hope they don't lose interest in their work or get pressured to end it prematurely next time.

Is there a literary term in Japanese similar to deus ex machina that refers to when a manga gets cut short for reasons and the author is given a set number of chapters to wrap it up where they spent many previous chapters setting things up with hints and foreshadowing for the future journey only to have to come up with a halfassed ending that probably disappoints them and definitely disappoints the reader? If there isn't, there should be. There should also be one for anime that starts before the source material has a chance to do anything and has to come up with their own ending. This would be something like Helsing rather than a shonen jump series that just inserts in with filler until the weekly story can catch up.
