You know, I have to say that, in the middle of the sea of mediocrity that is every chapter of this god forsaken series, there's always the comment section to make things better. Half of my enjoyment from this series is just reading this at this point.

Damn, Sumi looks great on those color pages. I'm excited to watch the anime and see how everyone is portrayed. Sure, the series might be lengthy and frustrating, but I want to like it.

Also, i agree with @MrMcNasty, this looks like author is stretching the story and trying to finish it a little after the to-be-premiered anime finishes its running.

Still can't wait for Mami to appear and make Kazuya go under a severe reality check. It also applies for Umi, i want him to appear and show Kazuya how men should approach their love interests. From the not-isekai/not-fantasy romance manga i'm following, i'm still really aghast bc an emotionally stunted with self-esteem issues middle school poorfag is showing more guts and initiative than a supposedly more mature, and with a track record, university student as of now.

Because he's "supporting her no matter what happens" so he can feel good about himself. He's got an inferiority complex, so he's overcompensating with Mizuhara.
He feels guilty for lying to the grandparents, so he feels obligated to help her to clear his guilty conscience. Especially since he's planning on coming clean to his grandmother only after the film is done and shown. He's mixing infatuation with obligation, with a pinch of a savior complex thrown in.

I'm mostly talking about how garbage this manga is, and how unlikable the MC is. He didn't even try to argue that coming clean would be a good idea, he'll do whatever she says, because she's the subject of his adoration and he believes he's inferior to her.

She's an escort dreaming of being an actress, and he's a deadbeat simp from a family that owns a business... They ain't that different.

And before you say "how she earns her money doesn't matter." It most definitely does in Japan. She'll never be able to make it big as an actress. Reputation is everything there. Even her manager's PR spin that "she's only doing compensated dating for acting practice" won't matter. That's a mountain that she won't be able to overcome.
