I know I'm in the minority when I say I want this break up to drag on for a little while. It will be more realistic that way and It will be more meaningful when they eventualy do get back together.

You all don't know unhealthy, shaky and volitile a normal girlfriend-boyfriend relationship is and it shows. You all don't how easily a highschool relationship can end. You all have been comformed to expect relationship to always work out and missunderstandings to always be quickly resolved like in highschool romance slop. Well guess what most highschool relationships don't work out in the end, you probably won't marry your highschool sweetheart and in real life this relationship would be just done for good.

if I had a nickel for every series in recent memory that

• had a weird misunderstanding around 20 chapters in that ruined the entire vibes
• kept it going for 30 chapters thereafter until the series ended with a sudden epilogue

I'd have one nickel, and I hope this won't be the second

The one thing he did that was fucked up was picking up a shift on Xmas eve when they had plans, and then failing to tell his boss and coworkers to stuff it when they took advantage of him and had him work overtime covering for others who wanted to fuck off and "call in sick".

He absolutely needed to not let himself get taken advantage of like that.

Everything else? Definitely on her, yes.

And the entirety of the supporting cast making him the bad guy is just one of those insufferable aspects of many a romance manga where it feels like the girl can do no wrong and even when it comes to light that this was by-and-large her fault, I'm betting none of them will admit they unfairly blamed him, much less apologize.

Of course they don't, just like with the girlfriend in Sensitive boy when the MC went to tell her -What the fuck is wrong with you?- A nosy bitch was like -He did wrong too- When, even if he did, it was way way milder(?) that what she said to him; it's thanks to a third party that the gilfriend realizes her fuck up mistake

It gets far worse. Apparently she doesn't try to reach out to him until Valentine's Day. And then she spots another girl talking to him and handing him something so she runs away again.

i hope the author feels bad about the garbage they have produced, and is never given the opportunity to publish anything ever again.

as for the "story"... the way it's written, she does not deserve him. i hope there is no good ending, but obviously there will be even more bullshit to get them back together

Sadly, only God knows why, the japanese love this kind of shit, Why do you think rental girlfriend has... 418? Fucking chapters! And mangas with a nice twist get axed because it's not a freaking cliche

The problem is that their relationship was almost perfect, it's not like they were constantly bickering, the worst thing that he did was overworking in the date day (that's on him but more on the freaking manager), and his reason was for buying a nice gift for her; hell i think he was gonna said that they start dating for real (months between chapter don't help to remember). That's the problem everyone has, freaking misunderstanding aggravated because of the "friends"
