I thought about that too. On the brighter side of things, I got some almost egg-y vibes from this chapter. The blushing and overstimulation from feminine sensations. The quiet reverence for entering a feminine space. That whole "someone cast a spell on me" line. Chihaya's dad even commented on how atypically mild Akizuki's reaction was to the curse is compared to their first time experiencing it.

So crossing my fingers that the "lie" doesn't turn out to be one in the end.

(though admittedly I'll enjoy it even if I'm completely off, a tragedy of someone who made a very bad choice is a powerful emotional space)

I really liked Shishizaki's speech about intimate clothing being "a way to think about someone you love," and "magic, just for yourself." I'm finding this manga pretty dull, overall, and I generally dislike fiction that takes a silly concept like this in earnest, but that was a nice moment.

Isnt it funny that this HS guy compromised to the posibility of permanent gender change for a girl he has dated for a few days?

Im not sure if Akizuki or author kinda get that this is basically liying about being trans to Shishizaki.

Shishizaki seems into it, so no problem from her dide with the Yuri either i guess.

Also, I really liked the delinquents, in other mangas they would be bullies harassing MC into breaking up with Shishizaki, but here they're "so they're dating? Whatever... That guy is really weird tho!!!"

I fail to see the trans. He does become a girl yes, but only to keep his girlfriend from leaving. He’s just weird… pretty much?

Maybe, but being trans isn't a bad thing.

And its not a lie unless he understands what he's feeling and what he wants that early on. And he probably doesn't. He probably just knows he doesn't mind being female and just wants to be with his first love no matter what.

Its also possible he isn't trans, and just doesn't care. Not everyone thinks Gender is an absolute. Non-binary people are proof of that. He might not care whether he is male or female.

I think he likes it tho and probably just doesn't understand what that means. I'm just basing that off my intuition. I have no idea what the author is thinking.

We actually don't know that for sure. I've read the Portuguese translation all the way up to Chapter 9, and we finally get a better look at his life up until now.

He says that he never cared about anything. He simply did what he had too. He had no likes or dislikes, and no passion or drive in life. He said he lived like a robot. Shishizaki was the first person he cared about or made him feel anything at all in his otherwise bland life.

Honestly I kinda don't dig that, would've preferred if the story was just about ML and FL navigating life like that, but can't not have any drama with this mangaka 😂

Eh, it's pretty normal. If I suddenly turned into a girl, I would also want to try doing things that girls do just to know how it feels.
