I usually watch Let's Plays of games I am interested in but one I really know I won't be enjoying to play myself. I can understand Ryuuto's enthusiasm about the subject. There really are games you enjoy even more by watching someone play it, than playing it yourself.

Sadly if i could afford to buy even half the games I want to play I would and then i would play them. But I am strapped for cash pretty much all the time cause of rent and an ongoing legal situation with my landlord that costs me lawyer money. Plus student loan debt -_-. Thus I watch let's plays of games I am interested in or wish i could play but can't. And let me tell you, finding a let's play of a game is hard enough without having to deal with finding a let's player that would play the game like i would so im not screaming at the screen in anger all the time. Double that frustration if its not a mainstream game that major youtubers play.

I'm not ragging against watching let's plays, like I said at the bottom of my comment, I just found the way it was presented so grandiosely (if I remember correctly) in this chapter to be kinda cringe given what it is. I watch them too for some games - usually horror since I don't enjoy playing those games, but they're fun to watch.

My dude, we're in a comment section for a comic chapter. The chapter is about a dude's hobby being 'watching let's plays' and acting as if it's something grand or difficult to understand. It's no more impressive than saying your hobby is watching reality TV, nor any more difficult to get into. Why can't I comment on it and say it's a dumb hobby?
You probably watch youtube, but is watching youtube your hobby?
Is watching television your hobby?
Is watching movies your hobby?
Is listening to music your hobby?
Despite doing all those things you wouldn't (likely) say so, because they're non-participatory things, and calling it a hobby is silly.

It would have made more sense if his hobby was gaming, and he just enjoyed let's plays as a thing to watch like the guy above.

Even if you disagree with everything I said, yeah it is MY opinion... in a forum to share these opinions. So there is no 'forcing of opinions' here. No need to be so snide about it.

Yeah, watching let's plays is one of my hobbies. It makes me feel bad when you call my hobby dumb, and it's especially annoying when it's for a silly reason. You're free to have that opinion, and I'm free to think you're being lame for having it. It'd be cooler if you just accepted that other people like things that you don't like and not try to make it out as if there's something objectively bad about liking that thing.

Despite this, I'll say it again for the third time in these comments, I don't see anything wrong with watching let's plays. I watch them. My issue comes from framing them in such a grandiose way, and the MC having it as his MAIN hobby.

So continue enjoying watching your let's plays, don't let me stop you or make you feel bad about it, but I would think twice about using it as a way of introducing yourself when talking about your hobbies.

Yeah, it's not my one and only hobby, I have others. However, I absolutely would not be ashamed to tell someone I'm romantically interested in about it. If that's a turn-off for them, that's a huge turn-off for me, so I'll be grateful to find that out early. And frankly, I respect the MC for not being a coward and trying to hide what they like just cause some assholes might judge them because it doesn't fit into their narrow view of what a hobby ought to be. I'm sure you're a nice person in general, but this one opinion I do think is lame, sorry.

I used to watch these let's plays when I was younger but I rarely watch them anymore, but when I do watch them I go to aliensrock. Not only I can find good puzzle games there but it's rare to find a non-yelling and an actually smart YTer nowadays.

Just an observation, but her super glossy eyes and the 3 or so pages of her holding the same expression make her almost look soulless. That, coupled with her general ignorance, made her seem like a puppet this chapter lol
