So we finally get an explanation. It's a bit of a cliche in itself, but at least it makes sense and gives her a reason for her attraction to him. I just wish they had done that at the end of the first chapter, or maybe the second if they wanted to push it. Because waiting anywhere from 1 to 4 months (depending on whether this series is published weekly or monthly in Japan) just to get the central conceit of their relationship so that every other action can make sense is a hilariously risky proposition. If I were reading this at original publication speed, there's no way I'd wait this long to get the excuse for their mostly boring paint-by-numbers behavior in the first 3 chapters before I would decide to drop it and read something that was actually willing to move the plot along.
Like I said, I like the idea that he was the only one to notice her discomfort because everyone's put her up on a pedestal and is too pushy about what they think is the right way to enjoy one's time, but I don't like how long it took to get here.
