nah it makes sense. if he didn't win the duel first then she would assume the apology was because he was trying to avoid the duel because he feared he'd lose or something
She also wouldn't take it as seriously, because she'd assume he's only apologizing because he was forced to by the terms of the duel.

Beating her and still giving her what she wants sends a far more effective message.

What in her right mind would convince her that she would win against a genius in the first place? Not only that, she's challenging an antagonist who could crush her and her family again in a heart beat. If she was wary she wouldn't provoke him again.

I get she's in distress but come on. I wish female characters were written better lol

My confusion is coming from this whole duel feeling super forced. If Vento is the way she thinks, forcing this duel would be suicide for her family. MC apparently stopped a hostile takeover, but in a way that involved no communication or apology in the first place?

I would have preferred the MC seeking this girl out and apologizing face-to-face before this point. Now I think he's the kind of guy that ruins people's lives, stops randomly, and then passively walks around hoping they don't say something to him about it.

Think that's exactly the point. The MC and his proxies has place so much pressure on her and her family she isn't in a good place mentally. Now suddenly the harassment is gone and the source of her family's torment has turned passive and almost meek. To say she is confused is an understatement and she still has a lot of resentment, worry and pain to process. So a duel, while being a poor choice as an outlet, might make sense to her already compromised and traumatized brain.

O . o
NGL, you're in the wrong media if you want well defined characters, of any gender. Basement dwelling manchildren have only a tenuous grasp of reality on the best of days, what makes you think they could faithfully depict what a normal person is like, let alone someone of a different gender?

Yeah touché to the last point. But I've seen a handful of shounen/isekai that have well written female protagonists, so it's a few droplets in the desert I guess.

but it is pretty damned par for the course when it comes to titles in this particular genre, for better or (much more likely) for worse.
This series feels like trash but there's a grain of something interesting about it.
Reminds me a little of that one about the guy who loves kamen rider gets isekaied into a game world and cast as the villain who gets abandoned by his father, admittedly not a lot but a little, we'll see where it goes.

She should be smarter than writing a blank cheque to a someone who she believes is a twisted and vile person. If he was still evil she’d be getting raped in the next chapter
