Regarding bookmarks. I don't use the site bookmarks. I use the search engine bookmarks (Firefox). What I do is add a date in front of the title. Example: 20200821 MangaDex Manga That way if a site goes down for some reason, I still have all the bookmarks so I can transfer the titles to the new reader. I've done this twice already. Once from a manga site I no longer remember to Kissmanga. Then from Kissmanga to MangaDex. It's a slow process since I have a couple hundred manga I've bookmarked this way and only about 20-25 manga/manwha/manhua are active at any time. I've even added titles that MD didn't have and left the uploading of chapters to others (some of the uploads, if I did it, would violate MD's rules).

I would love to create a page for every manga title listed on MangaUpdates (or The Doujinshi & Manga Lexicon), but I have other projects going on (e.g. studying tax courses for this upcoming tax season).

Never really used Kissmanga because of the ads. There are plenty of apps for manga reading, but I would encourage actually supporting the mangakas by purchasing volumes when you can and buying merch alongside it.

^This^

Instead of getting a subscription to Crunchyroll, I just buy a body pillow of my fav girl from each anime/manga I really like.

What am I going to do without these wonderful ads, though?

Thank god for small blessings..that greedy website had it coming. What kind of piracy site turns to IP banning users who uses adblockers right away?

it's sad that kissmanga had to leave early... I used to check things unavailable in mangadex there, such as Maou no Hajimekata... Anywayn, for those that's new here, I would say welcome. Hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

It is right and proper that kissmanga died. Whatever good it used to do, it was murdered when the management:

*started banning IPs that used adblock against their cancerous porn-adware
*implemented every datamining plugin possible from google-analytics to random name-number strings
*demanded payments for even their most basic (shitty) services and nuking people who complained.

You got what you deserved, kissmanga. You will be remembered and your legacy respected, but you yourself will be neither mourned nor missed.

@Halo "...but you yourself will be neither mourned nor missed" Critically important distinction there that you're ignoring.

There was a time when Kissmanga was a useful (though not always decent) scanlation website. It's worth remembering that you (Mangadex) would have a hell of a lot less traffic (and might well have died out entirely) if Kissmanga, Mangarock, and others hadn't completely blown their legs off before trying to ramp the shark.

@ninjadork nah, I'm laughing at the "your legacy respected" as if that thieving shithole actually made or contributed anything.

I'm not versed well enough in weeb history but I know Batato as the only other scanlation platform. There are many aggregators and scanlator websites though.

Someday... I believe Grumpy will lead weebs to conquer Japan again/s (but I do hope Grumpy well in his future endeavours)
