@Halo @hazzack @sterven And that's the entire point. An intelligent man profits from his failures - a wise man profits from the failures of others. If you put your angry glasses on the back shelf and think for a minute, you'll notice that Kissmanga has contributed something of immense value to the scanlation scene: Mangadex.
Saruman raised Gandalf from the Gray to the White. Joe Chill was the catalyst that created Batman. Ozai turned Zuko against him. So too is Kissmanga to Mangadex.
Kissmanga is a major reason why Mangadex exists, and its recent bullshit is a major factor in Mangadex's recent prosperity; "Oft evil will shall evil mar" and all that. If you were around from the beginning, you should remember how Mangadex was created as an alternative to Batoto because Batoto was falling due to scrape-&-pasters like Kissmanga. If you've been paying any attention at all, you've noticed a steady increase in Mangadex members migrating over from Kissmanga because their idiot management have been drinking increasingly larger quantities of acid. And now, here we are posting in a thread explicitly dedicated to welcoming refugees who've been left out in the cold because Kissmanga's practices have finally brought it crashing down.
There's nothing wrong with raising a toast to Kissmanga's contributions:
Kissmanga, your thieving jackassery was exceeded only by your rank incompetence. May you plague-spreading cockroaches spread out and infect other scrape-&-paste aggregators, that we might further profit from your failures.

As for calling Kissmanga a useful scanlation website:
I call Kissmanga a scanlation website in the same fashion Teddy does - a recognition that it was a primary stop for scanlation end-users. You can insist on distinctions between scanlation groups, scanlation platforms, and scanlation aggregators if it pleases you, but if you and I were drinking at a bar together I would bet you money most people don't care.
As for
useful...uh, it was. Aside from the above, a
lot of people used Kissmanga as their primary reading site. The very first post in this thread has a message from the admins asking people to be patient while the site sorts out the flood of new members, and this whole thread is dotted with "Press F for Kissmanga" and "Damn I need to re-find my favorite manga" testimonials. Your contempt for it, however warranted, doesn't change the fact that Kissmanga was a large player in spreading scanlated manga to the masses.
