I blame the ultra stupid japanese idol culture. One of the most stupid things in this world
It’s a shame you can’t pin specific comments to the top of a thread, because this is the one that needs to be seen by everyone. Idol fan culture can be unbelievably toxic — all the worst parts of inceldom, complete lack of boundaries, and parasocial entitlement all rolled into one. Absolute cancer.

It fascinates me how we can have the same level of interest in celebrities here in the west but genuinely don’t seem to care (and maybe even celebrate) when they have relationships, vs. how much of a cardinal sin relationships seem to be in idol culture.

No payoff with regard to that cunt of a director is going to make my blood pressure spike. Fuck that guy. I know it's not that kind of manga but mannnnnn...
He's an asshole. The direction they seem to be going with is that if even he's a prick, he was fully committed to his work while Fumi wasn't. And that makes Fumi selfish. It sucks, as it's an excuse. No matter what Fumi may or may not have done, the director was an abuser. "I thought you had balls". Nah, eat shit. He tacitly admitted that he didn't even see Fumi as a human, but a cog to make the machine work. Fucking hypocrite.

But unfortunately, he's in a higher position and has a longstanding tenure. It's frustrating but so realistic that he gets the last word here. I feel that way about the whole chapter. There's no fire here. The drama lasts all of one chapter. Everything - from Akari telling Fumi off, to him wasting away and unable to commute to work anymore after the scandal - is so cold and suffocating from Fumi's perspective. He fumbled hard, but not nearly enough to deserve all that. His mistakes were subtle and meek, but he ended up getting walled out of everything.

I hope that clickbaiting whore gets what's coming to her.

I didn’t say he was grooming her, I said grooming her was the only option he had left cuz this dumbass, pathetic bastard let go the perfect girl. I don’t wish to see him end with ayano, he deserves to end up all alone. I hope Akari found a good guy on her own and won’t come back to him in the present, like I’m available so why not me ? :meguuusad:
If Akari comes back into the story, ya already know shes gonna forgive him and inspire him to "save" Ayano. Its predictably horrible lol

Maybe I've forgotten something, but couldn't they easily state that she was on her way to a gig with her agent? She's one who would still very much require a disguise to go from one place to another for work and he was her agent. Unless there's some detail I'm forgetting, I feel like this this could've handled much more smoothly than it did.

You're thinking only of the outcome and not the lingering issue that plagued their entire "relationship". Fumi never wanted to commit or see Akari for who she was. He placed walls and barriers around them right until the very end.

Now that is fine. What's not fine is that he chose to do things half-assed. He'd still see Akari. He'd still see her dad, because being with them actually made him happy, yet would still reject them if things got uncomfortable. It is entirely a matter of communication and ignoring the real feelings of the people he's associating with because of his own fragile self-esteem.

It's a bad look no matter how you slice it. Akari cannot be blamed one bit for her choice. The real issue in the present is that he is repeating the same mistakes. Shiraki, who was completely outside the Akari matter, calls Fumi out on his indecision so the narrative is clearly framing Fumi as the "problem" here. Ayano is similarly confused because she doesn't know where she and Fumi stands, as he has yet to make that clear (this isn't totally his fault, mind you. Ayano is nuts). Bro needs to decide what he wants and to go for it.
I agree with him being a lil bish, my comment was about Akari expecting him to go there and save her, when that would just have backfired with all the media outside her house. He should have said that tho, instead of stuttering until she hung up on him.

Yeah, I don’t get this mc, did he love Akari or not ? He never was honest with her nor himself. He did nothing, things just happened to him and he went with it, and kept avoiding getting involved with Akari, cuz she’s an idol. Even though she said she wasn’t serious about it, just doing it for her dad and all, but nah he did nothing. So she got fed up and left him, the photo get leaked, she calls him, he avoids her call to « protect her », but in the end it’s just to protect himself, he does nothing, just going with the flow and hiding himself like always.
And now he has a new jobs, a 13yd girl is in love with him, he had the perfect woman but nah he let her go, now the only option he has is grooming a 13yd. Shinzo Abe is dead because of dudes like him. Useless bastard :meguuusad:
Thanks for the translation
You're either being incredibly deceitful or willfully ignorant by suggesting that Fumi is grooming Ayano.

Not once has it been shown where he is the one making sexual advances, only her. Every time Fumi has consistently not taken the bait or blatantly ignored it like an adult should. That's not grooming.

I'm all for shitting on this guy, He's a spineless weak ovulating vagina but being one of diddy's disciples he is not.

Oh yeah I agree there. In the end, she wasn't totally honest either.

Can't work, unless you're in a happy go lucky manga where an ass plan out of thin air work because armor plot.

First, the picture was doing the buzz on the net, it was already out of control. Second, he's quickly identified and put on house arrest by the higher ups.
You can't lie on his identity easily, any competent reporter will find out quickly he's just an AD and you'll be in a deeper hell hole for lying. And more, if you're commited to this plan, it'll require an official statement from him in the media to certify that he's her agent :lul: . Don't forget all the coordination (money, people, absolute media control) to make it credible, so impossible. Your plan will sink faster than the Titanic.

Huh. Were people really expecting Fumi—a guy in a terrible mental state after years of workplace abuse—to be someone he just couldn’t be? As the chapter title says, a "Hero"? He was barely holding himself together, clinging to the last threads of resilience, and made the only choice he felt capable of making. I can’t fault him for that. Expecting him to be anything more, given his state, feels unrealistic and unfair.

As for Akari, I’m genuinely puzzled by how quickly people got attached to her. She’s far from perfect in my eyes. Maybe it’s just me, but I need more time to connect with a character.

Thanks for the chapter!

Did people miss the point that this entire background was explaining how he acts with Ayano now?
He's regretful of his inactions which is why he's more proactive in protecting Ayano and being more responsible in the present. He was what 23 dealing with an idol scandal in a workplace that abused him telling him to keep away, yeah of course he's going to freeze up anyone in that situation would of lmao.

It felt a little rushed, it was a bit too fast from "I'll leave showbiz to be with you" to "I'm past you, I wont leave showbiz also" and later "please save me" to the final "lol, jkjk I left showbiz".
Also what happened to her father?

I can't see Isshiki in the wrong here, even if he chose to protect himself at the end, which is true and the correct answer at that time.
