I mean sentimental value from little items from someone is fine. This girl literally touched his thigh suggestively and has done other more sexual actions and he didn't do anything in fact he freaked out because he knew what she was doing was bad.A man who is not taking the bait would not be holding a leaf she randomly showered him with as his greatest treasure.
She's not perfect in the slightest. People latched on to her because she isn't jailbait and her frank personality. Only reason why.Huh. Were people really expecting Fumi—a guy in a terrible mental state after years of workplace abuse—to be someone he just couldn’t be? As the chapter title says, a "Hero"? He was barely holding himself together, clinging to the last threads of resilience, and made the only choice he felt capable of making. I can’t fault him for that. Expecting him to be anything more, given his state, feels unrealistic and unfair.
As for Akari, I’m genuinely puzzled by how quickly people got attached to her. She’s far from perfect in my eyes. Maybe it’s just me, but I need more time to connect with a character.
Thanks for the chapter!
I mean he doesn't have to groom her. Idk why that's his only optionI didn’t say he was grooming her, I said grooming her was the only option he had left cuz this dumbass, pathetic bastard let go the perfect girl. I don’t wish to see him end with ayano, he deserves to end up all alone. I hope Akari found a good guy on her own and won’t come back to him in the present, like I’m available so why not me ?![]()
This is just a classic difference in culture which is why there's a massive disconnect. Also doesn't help the prestige of celebrities in the the West has greatly diminished thanks to social media. People these days don't really respect/care nearly as much these days for celebrities as back then in the West. I from my own pov see celebrities scorned or ignored and not cared for these days. The Gen Z and younger also don't care for older celebrities vs newer one.It fascinates me how we can have the same level of interest in celebrities here in the west but genuinely don’t seem to care (and maybe even celebrate) when they have relationships but how much of a cardinal in it seems to be in idol culture.
Idol culture is massively different in the east where the person becomes the product. So of course there's a sense of entitlement. You spend money to support this idol as they sell their looks, purity, aesthetic, attention or in male idol's case their pretty looks and swooning dispositions. It's basically prostitution without the sex part. Personally if there's one thing Japanese/Korea Culture should learn from America at least the celebrities themselves. Is to learn to hate your fans a little. I think that mindset could help more often than not. Because fandoms are always cancer doesn't matter what it is.
To sum it up idol's sell an illusion and anything breaking that illusion will be met with scorn and hatred. It's no different to female streamers hiding they have a boyfriend.
